The Seattle Gum Wall has been gathering gum since the early 1990s when people waiting for shows at the nearby Unexpected Productions would stick gum to the wall and coins to the gum to pass the time. Theatre staff tried to keep the wall clean, but soon gave up as the gum collected faster than they could scrape it off. I didn’t see any coins when we were there, just loads of gooey gum. In November 2015, the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority spent 130 hours stripping 2,350 pounds of gum off the wall in order to steam clean and preserve the brick underneath.
These days it's so important to unplug and spend quality time with the people we love. Tag a friend or family member you’d love to kick back at the beach with for a week margaritas mandatory!

If your layover airport is close to a major city, why not choose the ticketing option with the long layover and go explore? After many layovers at DFW, we decided to book an 8-hour layover and went into the city. This gave us time to do one loop of the Hop On Hop Off bus tour of Dallas and grab lunch before heading back to the airport. Not only was it fun to see the city we had passed through so many times, it was a nice break in our travel day. I researched the usual travel... time between the airport and city (time and day of the week that we would be there). I also checked out the different modes of transportation. HOT TIP - public transit can be faster than a car service or cab. Then moved onto looking for a bus tour. Most major cities have some kind of city tour option, whether it be by bus or walking. When looking at a hop on hop off schedule, note the time between the first and last stop. That will give you an idea as to how long the whole tour takes. Once you’ve decided on a tour and know how long it is, add that to the round trip travel time to and from the airport (being sure to pad it by at least two hours to allow for hiccups on the road and time to get through airport security) and voila! Look for that long of a layover
