Happy Halloween from Active Living. Can Anyone guess who Randy and Lorry dressed up as (bottom 2 pictures)?
Adrianne with another creative Halloween workout. Feel free to go through this at home too, for a fun exercise plan.
Yesterday was Cath’s 5th work-Anniversary. She is a fantastic massage therapist, working with a variety of clients with anything from sports injuries, aging or neurological disabilities. She also makes us laugh everyday. We love you Cath!

Happy 1-year anniversary to Hannah! Hannah started with us as a new grad and between Active Living and PRHC, she has gained so much experience this year. As we all knew from her time with us a super fantastic student, she is an amazing physiotherapist and we are happy she joined our team.

This is Richards obstacle course that he planned for one of his clients who is working on relearning her spatial environment. Obstacle courses can incorporate exercise, balance and distractions into your therapy sessions but this is a particularly fun one!
Were excited to be getting some exercise classes up and running again soon. Well be starting semi-private (2 clients to 1 therapist) Exercise with Parkinsons and Fitness After Stroke classes in September. It will be so nice to see everyone again!
It is Christines last week at our clinic. She has been an amazing student and will be a fantastic physiotherapist. Congrats on finishing your final placement and we wish you success and happiness! Well miss you. And in our game of the week, she took the champion title from Jesse!
Celebrating Jesses first work anniversary today. Weve been lucky to have him join our staff. During our competition, he took the winner title from Adrianne, so she is sad.
Today we celebrate Shawnas second work-anniversary on our party-Mondays! Shawna is a kind and caring therapist, she is smart and diligent and she makes use all better therapists. We are lucky she joined us 2 years ago.
This week weve been celebrating PTA day with a lot of snacks! We have the best PTAs ever! They are amazing with clients, creative with their treatments and they help keep us clean and organized. Thank you for being awesome co-workers!
We started the day with a virtual course. More exercise ideas are coming our way! #continuingeducation #exercise #rehabilitation #physioteam
We are continuing with our party-Mondays to catch up on all the things we missed while away. Happy Administrative Professional Day to our awesome Chelsey!
Happy 5th work anniversary to Adrianne! She also won the party game at lunch :)
Thank you to all of our awesome staff who are back here caring for our clients and making it a great place to be! And to the awesome staff who cant come back yet, we miss you and look forward to when you can join us.
So...the golf league hasnt worked out yet this year. Between both us and Keystone, we have several challenges in making it happen. We are still hopeful that we may be able to figure out a few nights of golf later in the summer, but I have no dates at this time. Ill let you know in early July if this is a possibility.
We are back! Many of our clients need assistance to improve their mobility safely and weve been worried about them for the last few months. It feels lovely to be seeing them again. We have many new policies and procedures in place and its moving along well. We hope to see you soon!
Great news! We are allowed to open again and will be doing so on Monday June 1st. We plan to call all of our clients at the beginning of the week to see if you need to return, but if you are a new client who needs physiotherapy, please call the clinic and leave your contact information and we will call you back as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about how we will be keeping people safe while in the clinic, check out this link: https://www.activeli...ving.physio/p/changes-that-you-will-see We will continue to offer virtual appointments, if you would prefer to stay at home for your physiotherapy. Were looking forward to seeing you again soon!

This is a tough one...
We had a baby shower day for Jesse yesterday. Love this picture (thanks Betty) of Jesse and his stroke exercise class.
Its brain injury awareness month, and we just updated our mild traumatic brain injury assessment to standardize our own testing and assist with our immediate treatments. Im going to post some information from the Guideline for Concussion/Mild Traumatic Brain Injury as posted by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation, over the next couple of days. We treat brain injury at any stage of recovery. Call us for an assessment. https://www.activeliving.physio/post/brain-injury-advice

Tracy is back and with her a yoga pose of the month Warrior 1 (Virabhadrasana 1) -From standing take a big step back with one leg, and let that leg and foot rotate open to a slight angle (about 45 degrees, or whatever is comfortable in your body).... -Square your hips forward -Bend your front knee, and make sure that your knee doesnt come past your ankle. If it does, take a wider stance. -Let your arms float up as high as is comfortable, with palms facing towards one another. -Let the heart lift and the shoulders relax down the back. Maybe lift the gaze slightly - Hold for 3- 10 long conscious breaths. Then repeat on the other side. Benefits: -Strengthens shoulders, arms, back, legs and ankles -Opens and stretches hips, chest, lungs, legs, ankles and arms -Improves balance, concentration, and energizes the whole body. Modifications: -You can face the back of a sturdy chair, or even a door frame, and let one hand or both rest on the back of the chair for extra support in balancing.
Tracy is back! And along with her PTA skills she brings her soothing voice, yoga and Tai Chi. Welcome back Tracy! We missed you.
