Oh hello India.

When I'm covering politics on the Hill, I work a lot from what's colloquially called the "hot room", which is just a large office room with cubicles occupied by the National Press Gallery and its members. Most of the time when I work there, my nose is in my laptop and I don't look around much, but the room does have some windows, and they happen to be facing north towards the Ottawa River. This morning as I was filing an earlier presser, this scene was unfolding from the ...window in my cubicle aisle. Once I figured out how to open that damn antiquated window, I took this shot. I wonder what views we'll have in the new temporary hot room as they shut down this parliament for 10-15 years of renos.

Even when it's in the House of Commons' foyer, I always enjoy photographing Jagmeet Singh.

That room over at Wellington building is actually quite grand when it's empty.
