Friendly reminder to keep electronics and metal objects away from your transceiver. *Quick story: I was in the backcountry the other day, and passed a group of... people practicing Avalanche Rescue. One person asked me: Excuse me, do you know how to use the Barryvox? I can’t seem to get it to work! I asked if he had interference? His cell phone was super close and he was wearing heated gloves. His transceiver showed only a 20m search range due to this (look at screen in picture). Remember, its a life-saving device and the safest spot to wear your transceiver is in its harness. The harness should be worn strapped to your chest and over your lowest base layer (under all your other warm clothes). Cell phones, head lamps, metal candy wrappers, magnetic buttons, pocket knives, cameras, go-pros, etc etc, should all be stored at least 20cm away when Sending and 50cm when Searching. Heated gloves need stay out of the backcountry. All signs are pointing to the backcountry being busy this winter. We are excited to be armed with a plethora of all time backcountry zones to hit this winter. Away from everyone! We are offering group guided trips in the Sea to Sky (squamish to the Duffey) every Thursday and Sunday starting Nov 29. Private trips available any day!

Mid week AST 1, 1+ , 2 and backcountry courses have been added. All winter long.

Backcountry skiing/boarding from our remote backcountry base camp. For one week a month we will be setting up shop in the sea to sky. 3.5 day heli accessed backcountry basecamp.
