One of my goals during this trip was to go visit the lower ninth ward, which was one of the most effected areas during Hurricane Katrina. As a photographer I needed to capture whatever was left from one of the biggest natural disasters in the US on August 23rd, 2005. 14 years later, and we got dropped off by an Uber in the middle of this ghost town. Not going to lie, was a little scary. We started walking around and saw some houses that were rebuilt. But most of it was gone. ...Nothing but stairs and drive way paths left to what used to be a home full of food, memories, and a family. I couldn’t imagine half of what these families went through. - Slide to the second photo and you’ll see the bridge where thousands went on for rescue. Being in Canada while Katrina happened, I witnessed it all through my TV screen.
