Making the holidays meaningful for a person living with dementia can be challenging, and even more so this year with the pandemic. Here is a celebration tip that can help you create new traditions and make this holiday season festive. Celebration Tip #2: Admire the decorations! Drive around the neighborhood and enjoy the lights and festive decorations that your neighbours have on display.

Meet Joy Cooke, our First Link Coordinator. Joy works closely with our First Link Care Navigator in guiding families to get the assistance and support that they need in a timely manner.Joy has made connections with physicians offices in an effort to streamline referrals and to educate the medical community on the supports that we are able to offer their patients. Joy has been an asset to our team and it was clear during her placement that she served with the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia Lambton that she connected well with our client base and community partners. Thank you Joy for all that you do. We are fortunate to have you on our team.

The staff of the Alzheimer Society celebrated the Holiday Season with a "Cup of Cheer" virtual party. Although we would have preferred to gather together in person we know if we are to keep COVID-19 numbers down in Sarnia Lambton and protect each other and our loved ones we must all sacrifice this year so that we will all be there to celebrate in person next year. We wish everyone all of the Joy that the Holiday Season inspires, May 2021 bring peace, good health and much happiness! Stay safe!
