We have been performing all the enhanced cleaning protocols in units since April, but here's the thing. If you don't tell your guests directly how and what you're doing to keep them safe, they get concerned. Who knew?! ... Replacing murphy-bed leg tensioners have become a regular part of my weekly routine over the past two months. I have replaced 5 cables in as many weeks, and the cause is apparent AND [good news] Preventable!! The mechanisms are falling out of alignment, any grease once present is long gone, and the moving components are snagging, forcing the cables to snap. It's been the same story for each one. I have been speaking with the folks @ Reliance, and they echoed the need for reg...ular maintenance on our Murphy-beds to ensure their longevity and integrity. I’m putting the word out we can perform the bi-annual preventative maintenance needed for those beds in the hopes we don’t unnecessarily burn through the finite supply of tensioners. Airbnb community!!l The last 24 hours have been extremely eventful for us! At 5:30 pm I met with 2 Vic PD detectives at one of our suites we care for. This man goes by David. We believe he was participating in less than model citizen behaviour and left slug trails behind for us as potential evidence. Today, this request (see booking request below) came through to 2 of our owners. Be on alert! Please be vigilant and ASK QUESTIONS!! What brings you to Victoria is a good first... start?! Vet your guests, if you are using self check consider using a check in service, the very least in person Id check! Our team would be happy to qualify your guests in person from 6 away to ensure not only the safety of your suite but the safety of the other people living in the building.

Feeling community love. We feel very blessed to have the love & support of one special lady in particular. Helena Looby of Downtown Furnished Rentals hired our turnover specialists to care for her tenants with mid-stay cleans. Due to COVID these mid-stay cleans have come to an indefinite halt. She has generously offered to pay us for the cleans we would be doing this month, not wanting us to lose this income. Hello Amala family, In response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we are taking extra precautions in our cleaning methods and how we are processing linens. We have added extra Isopropal & essential oils with disinfecting properties to all our cleaning products. Disinfecting all touchpoints continue to be of top focus in our turnover method with extra emphasis on doorknobs, cupboard handles, remotes, light switches & ALL countertop type surfaces. Our staff has been instructed ...to wear a fresh pair of gloves in each unit they clean in as well as when they are handling linens. Ryan & I have been working in our LAB & have created a hand sanitizer. We will have these available for sale at Vacation Rental LABS location 556B Pandora Ave. We suggest that all decorative pillows & throw blankets be taken out of the suite and stored for now. The alternative would be to wash and dry either on or off-site. We also suggest the use of pillow protective covers, if you don't have them already. We would like to be able to change these out with each turnover ensuring that the pillow is 100% protected from any contact that it may have had with saliva or mucous from the previous guest. If you do not have double sets of pillow protectors please contact Angela by email [email protected] or by phone 250-686-0638 and she can add you to the order going out on Monday, March 16th. All linens being processed off-site are being washed in hot water. There may be an increase of linens coming back off-site to be washed. We will offer a discount on your linen fee if your unit average load is increased over this next season of extreme precaution. We understand that this is a delicate time & many travelers who are able to get away to Victoria may be cautious. Please let your guests know that we are taking the appropriate measures to ensure that their suite is clean; that their health and safety are very important to us.
