1st lift of 19' basement.

On May 31st 1985 a Tornado ripped down Amaranth street Grand Valley. April 20 2017 the clean up continues..... A good portion of the destroyed houses trees and rubble was dumped in our pit until it could be decided what to do with it. One night some one lit the trees, houses/ rubble on fire before it could be sorted out. All the dry timber and shingles it was a quick hot fire. Being left with a pile of ash burnt metal and nails spread over 4-5 acres of our gravel pit. We d...ecided to bulldoze 4" of gravel below and all the burnt debris into a big pile. Almost 32 years later we have decided to clean up the past. Loading the debris up and spreading it out to sort out the steel and concrete foundations then screen out the large stones and bricks. The one thing I remember as a kid (I was 10) walking around all the debris was all the records (vinyl) laying around everywhere. They made great frisbees. See more
