Congratulations to those who made it through day one of virtual learning. Regardless if your child did all their work, did none of their work, cussed at you all day, ignored you all day or stayed happily in their pjs all day. Day one is done and you did it! We are all in this together and would love to hear some of your experiences from today. Here are just a few tips to make this transition a little easier. ... Let go of all expectations. So they didn’t finish all of their work today, it’s ok. Be patient. Technology can be hard and doesn’t always work. Give the kids (and yourself) a break from the screen. Get the kids outside for fresh air. Walk the dog, get the mail or just walk around the block. Be supportive and kind. We are all in this together and trying to figure this out. Ask for help when needed. Take time outs for deep breaths. When all else fails, ensure you have lots of coffee and wine available. Amazing Fundraising started after two moms participated on school council for several years and struggled with finding fundraising companies that knew the issues we were facing. School/team fundraising is hard work and it often takes very dedicated individuals to make fundraising successful. Kamila and Helen started Amazing Fundraising in 2015. The last couple of years have been challenging to say the least. We were faced with teacher strikes, school closures, sport team c...losures and Covid restrictions. To say we have pivoted is an understatement. We have completely changed the way the Amazing Box of Fundraiser works. We have taken every single precaution possible and made our fundraiser 100% Covid safe and 100% contactless. We have created a webstore (thank you Skyrocket Media), we help organizations run a virtual fundraiser and we now provide home delivery. When we started Amazing Fundraising, this is not how we envisioned it. But we have always only had one goal, helping families and organizations raise funds for the things they need. So here we are, despite all of the obstacles, we are busy and we are grateful!! We are so thankful for all of the schools and organizations that put their trust in us with their fundraising initiatives.
