Scott Moe’s poor decisions mean we have been left with the worst of both worlds: A crumbling economy with 23,000 more people unemployed; & The worst COVID-19 results in Canada. Now we all share in the consequences of this Premier’s failures.

Statement from Official Opposition Leader Ryan Meili on the news that the The Lighthouse Serving the Battlefords emergency shelter is set to close due to lack o...f funding: Saskatchewan is in the midst of two public health crises. The COVID-19 pandemic, and the overdose crisis that is taking a brutal toll in lives across our province. This government has been completely absent when it comes to the most vulnerable and has ignored the needs of communities like the Battlefords. It is unacceptable that the Sask. Party government would allow the crucial work the North Battleford, Lighthouse does in service of the most vulnerable to be shut down due to lack of funding. I’m so proud of Amber. Putting her name forward, hitting the pavement talking to so many people and all during a pandemic. Amber and her supporters will continue advocating for the The Battlefords and make sure we hold our elected officials accountable.

I want to thank my friends and neighbours in Battleford and North Battleford for their support. I’m deeply humbled by the welcomes I received on doorsteps and all the people who donated and volunteered on this campaign. It’s been great to be part of Ryan Meili’s team this election. I’m so proud that we were able to stand up together for a government that puts people first. We made great progress to making those values a reality in Saskatchewan and in The Battlefords. We’ll pick up signs and get back to work standing up for the Battlefords very soon.
