First off I didn’t make these. I wasn’t even born when these were made. These beautiful putz houses and pinecone birds were made back in the 1930s and 40s. They were made in Japan until the beginning of WWII. They were a delightful surprise in a recent Christmas lot I bought in an online auction. I actually took the last two weeks off of production to focus on illustrating a story book that I wrote with my dad The Legend of the Tree Topper Gnome. There is A LOT of illustration work left to do but the sketches are done! I’ve learned a lot about designing, editing and publishing picture books over the last two weeks.
