Guess the bees have talked with the ground hog. Love me the sunny single digit February weather. Early bee work means mite treatments are being done.

Spring vs Summer = 2 Kinds of Deliciousness
Spring vs Summer = 2 Kinds of Deliciousness
Well the 2017 season is in full swing despite all the rain that we've been getting lately. Thankfully the bees work when they can and have produced a nice start on the spring flora. Fresh Spring Honey is in stock and composed of dogwood, lilacs, black locus, raspberries and a whole lot of deliciousness
Spring/Dandelion honey in stock, Summer honey soon to follow. So far so good
The benefits of bee pollination on fruit is rather evident with this wild strawberry. Oh and yes it was delicious
Dandelion Honey has been extracted and is settling in the tank. Packaging the honey this week and will be available for sales

Rough over wintering success this season but there is some good news. Lots of my survivors look like or quite similar to this. Fortunately means that I have stock to rebuild :D
2016 Queens have arrived. Resting happily in the bank awaiting their new castles.

Delightful day for the bees yesterday. Sunshine means that they have some heat to move about the colony, not cluster so tightly and there were even some whom decided to take advantage and do a cleansing flight... aka fly outside to poop. Month or more before I really get to inspect how they've come through the winter.
Buckwheat in blossom and hives ready and working. Shall see what we see and what will bee will bee
