I was a bit curt with my last post. When the first lockdown hit I had posted that everything was ok only to have to recant and I didn't want that to happen this time around. My regulatory board was awaiting further clarification this morning to know for sure how this lockdown would look for us. So yes, regulated healthcare (RMTs, chiropractors, physiotherapists, etc) are considered essential and may remain open during the current State of Emergency in Ontario. As you know, t...here is a covid screening email sent 7 days before your appointment. Please note that I first check for these screenings on Mondays and it would be great if they were filled in when received. If anything changes after filling them in, or even a few days after your appointment, please contact me either by PM, phone, or email. Please, if you are in need or know someone who is: The centre is now offering free, walk-in, single-session psychotherapy sessions each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 580 Spence Avenue in Hawkesbury, which is located next to Taco Bell. No appointment is necessary, and clients must be aged 16 or older.

Were getting closer! I just spoke with my distributor and theyre expecing the masks to come in late next week. Once they are in I can do a deep clean to the clinic so it is fresh and I can start calling people to begin treating July 7th. I wont be able to see as many people in a day, so itll take me a while to get through the list. Im expecting to have my online booking disabled until the end of July. On Wednesday, May 27th news outlets announced that massage therapy and other healthcare practitioners could reopen immediately. Massage Therapists were given no advance warning ahead of the announcement and, indeed, did not receive our official notice until 9pm that evening. Throughout this shutdown we have been told repeatedly all healthcare professionals in Ontario are restricted from providing anything other than emergency/urgent care. In the context of the COVID-19 pande...mic, Massage Therapy is not emergency/urgent care, so Massage Therapists should not practice. We are now allowed to gradually resume our practices and have been instructed to limit the number of people we see in a day. There are several new health and safety precautions we must adhere to before opening our doors. Attached to our 9pm email were a number of documents outlining: - mandatory PPE training I need to complete - mandatory PPE I need to purchase - changes to charts, signs, and logs I need to prepare and place in the clinic - a clinic room that needs to be stripped, disinfected, and readied I have ordered my PPE but as it is unusually difficult to source, my supplier is not expecting to fulfill the shipment until mid-June at their best guess. I will be unable to schedule appointments until they arrive. At this point Im hoping for an early July return. It will not be business as usual when I reopen. A few of the mandated changes include: - Both myself and the patient/client will have to wear face masks before, during, and after the treatment. - I have pre-screening questions that I must ask before the treatment. - Everyone entering the building will be required to wash/sanitize their hands upon entry. - After the treatment, any surface that has been touched must be disinfected. - I will not be allowing anyone into the clinic who does not already have an appointment. The front door will be locked. At this time I have turned off my online booking. Those whose appointments were cancelled due to the shut down will be contacted first before the online booking will be turned on. Appointment times might be different as I will have to schedule more time between appointments to disinfect. As I wont have as many patients per day, I will be unable to take new patients until I am sure I can handle demand from my current clientele. Im sorry for any disappointment. This is a difficult time for everyone.

Hi everyone, I wanted to give a little update as Im starting to get questions about reopening. I am mandated shut by my governing College, the CMTO. They get their orders from the Ministry of Health. The last update Ive received has said we are mandated closed until midnight on May 29th (Friday), but realistically I am expecting this to be extended again. The CMTO have given us a rough draft of new measures to follow once we are open and some of these things such as speci...al cleaning supplies and masks are on back order or currently unavailable to non-front line workers. I am working on getting my supplies together, but even if we are given the green light for this weekend, its going to take some time before Im ready to reopen. As soon as I am ready to go, I will be phoning everyone who was booked during the shutdown before reopening my online booking. Hopefully this answers a few questions for you.

Roll and Release coming Mondays at the VKH Arena at noon!! You know those tennis ball exercises I keep yammering on about? This is a whole class of them - with yoga tune up balls (the other one on my desk and much better than tennis balls). You will be on the floor a lot, so skirts might not work, but you wont be sweating, so perfect to skip out on your lunch break and look fine to return to work after.
