Do something today that your future self will thank you for.
I know you’re with me when I say this: these are STILL weird, hard, and confusing times. We’re all juggling so many things kids at home, remote work, unexpected job changes, and surely readjusting to life after lockdown. As the government announced plans to ease the lockdown measures, many people were elated and began making plans for the summer; but if you didn’t share that same excitement, and instead experienced feelings of anxiety or trepidation, you’re not alone. You m...ay even feel anxious at the thought of meeting with loved ones again after so many months apart. It's not unusual to feel uneasy about big changes and you may have even found it difficult adjusting to life in lockdown, which now feels like the new ‘normal’. Ultimately, the most important thing is to protect you and your well-being. You must take things at your own pace. The ‘roadmap’ that the government is following may not align with what is best for you. Maybe your goal is to get outside for a walk or to meet a friend for coffee. Whatever it is, consider explaining to family and friends about how you are feeling about all of the changes, or you may find it easier to send them this blog to help them understand. By communicating how you are feeling, your loved ones will find it easier to respect your boundaries and help you adjust to the ease in restrictions. Some things you can do for your mental health and well-being -Whether on TV, radio, or online, try not to consume too much news. Instead, listen to your favourite music or put on a comedy to switch off from the outside world. -Take each day as it comes. It is easier said than done, but if you can, try not to plan too far ahead. Think about what you would like to do over the upcoming week. -Recognize how you are feeling and try not to bury your worries. Some people find writing down their anxieties or saying them out loud really calming, almost as if you are letting them go. Whatever works for you, find a way to reduce the amount of time you think negatively, as this will impact your overall mood and well-being. It's important to remember that you’re not alone in feeling anxious about life after lockdown, and if you try to talk to friends and family about it, you may even find that they also feel this way. Focus on what you can control and appreciate the little things when you begin feeling overwhelmed. None of this is easy, but we’ll figure it out! I also wanted to mention that I am using a new online scheduling platform- GOrendezvous. With a baby on the way, back-and-forth phone calls and e-mails to schedule appointments will sometimes be difficult, so I’ve had to adjust and make some changes. MASSAGE THERAPY SERVICES REMAIN OPEN! Massage Therapy is an essential service and we will therefore continue to serve you during these very difficult times. To respect the new curfew, our hours have been modified to close earlier than usual. Until February 8th, we will close at 7:00pm.... Keep smiling We will all get through this together.
This rollercoaster of a year is coming to an end and the anticipation for better times is contagious! This upcoming year will give us the opportunity to start afresh. Even though this New Year’s Eve will be a quiet one with people celebrating from their homes, let’s toast to fresh starts and to healthy, new chapters! Happy 2021 from the AMG family to yours!
There is no ‘right' way to practice self care, and there are no time requirements- it is different for everybody. Many people don’t have time to take a bath everyday, or to do an hour long yoga session. Some may actually find those activites MORE stressful. The key is consistency- find what works for you and do it DAILY. Even 5-10 minutes a day is extremely beneficial! Some ideas ... Cuddle your dog or cat. Bake/cook something yummy. Read. Lie on the couch and close your eyes. Stretch. Call someone who understands you. Write down your thoughts. Go for a walk or bike ride. What do you do that helps you to relax and care for yourself?

As of tomorrow, Saturday, July 18th, wearing a mask is mandatory for people aged 12 and over. Since it was always mandatory to wear a mask at AMG Therapy, the only difference is that you must put your mask on before entering the Valois Bay building.
