Fake or compromised Facebook accounts; dropping links on the walls of open groups dedicated to shopping and sharing can be too good to be true. 4. Dump Cyber Monday emails with attachments immediately in the virtual garbage, especially zip files. 5. Make sure you’re on a secure connection. the URL should read https . 6. Do not use debit cards to shop online. 7. Avoid using public wifi to shop. 8. Watch out for malicious QR codes. Best to avoid them. 9. Don’t fork over extra info. 10. Tighten up security before you shop on Cyber Monday. Software on your computer needs to be up-to-date, including OS, browser, and other apps. Install an anti-malware program and an ad-blocker and run updates on your AV, firewall, and other programs. See more
