We are absolutely ecstatic to welcome this incredibly talented instructor and performer into our musical family. There's no point in cutting her bio short as her achievements should not be watered down. Jocelyn is currently booking new clients and spots will fill quickly. Please read on, and don't hesitate to contact us for lessons starting in September! Jocelyn June was born and raised in Hamilton Ontario. From a young age she was dedicated to her music. She started with p...erforming with church choir, to singing the Canadian National Anthem for a variety of events and performing in school musicals. Jocelyn has taken private music lessons for many years in music theory, piano, and voice. She took guitar lessons from Gord Lewis, the founding guitarist of Teenage Head. She is familiar with the RCM (the Royal Conservatory of Music) testing, passing her grade nine classical voice. Jocelyn has been in a list of music and talent competitions; placing first in majority of what she entered in. Along with playing solo shows, Jocelyn has performed with the Hamilton Jr. All Star Band, Skirt Check, The Falcons and has sang backup vocals for independent musicians. Since Jocelyn June moved to Brantford she has started her career as a full time musician. After winning the Brantford Breath of Fresh Air Talent Competition, she took the money won and put it towards her first single; recorded in Jukasa Studios, 'Drag Me To Hell' released in 2018, found on all streaming platforms. She attended Brantford Business Center Course to learn the paperwork for copyrights, releasing music and promoting herself. Jocelyn recorded her second single at Chevy Cat Studios, 'Don't Look Back' released in 2019. She continually performs local gigs such as song-writer rounds, private events, festivals, weddings and was the opening act for Everlast in his Brantford show. Inbetween gigs Jocelyn June directed her first music video for 'Drag Me To Hell' in collaboration with Hamilton Westdale Secondary Students. It was completed in March 2020, and released onto YouTube the following month of April. Jocelyn June has been a music teacher from home for many years; online and in person. She started teaching piano, rhythm guitar, voice and music theory at Avalon Music Academy from 2019 till March Break of 2020. Since the pandemic Jocelyn works for the Songbird Series, has done live steamed gigs, live stream songwriter rounds and continues to explore her music career through online platforms. Her goal is to continue teaching and performing. She continues find new and creative ways to teach music, as well as, working on her original music to be professionally recorded and released along with a music video for each song. See more

Hey Everyone! After discussing the legalities with our local MPP, Municipality, By-law enforcement, and finally the Brant County Health Unit; The Academy of Music and Performance has been given the green light to reopen our doors! We understand that our clients may still be apprehensive about attending live lessons, so online lessons are still available with your instructor.... We have been made aware of the strict protocols for reopening and we're pumped to say that we can accommodate them all! The entire facility will be cleaned and disinfected before opening our doors. All of our instructors are required to disinfect their individual rooms, instruments, and other teaching utensils regularly and between each lesson. Our Instructors must maintain a distance of two meters from their student througout their lessons. Any shared instruments must be disinfected prior to another individual's use. We are asking everyone to practice social distancing and in doing so we have to limit the amount of traffic in our waiting area. We are asking guardians waiting with students that you wait outside of the building for your instructor to come great you, or text you for your scheduled lesson. The next few days are going to be hectic as we plan our reopening. We would appreciate hearing your opinions, concerns, and questions. We will work towards making all of you as happy and comfortable as possible. Feel free to connect with your instructor individually if you like for any additional information that you require. We're beyond excited, and we thank all of you for sticking with us throughout this tough time. For all other inquiries, feel free to message our page or contact us through email or phone. Compliments, The AMP studio family. [email protected] 5198653156 5197740070

Ryan Jarvis here! Check my student out! She's so talented and this is so rewarding. Maddi is a girl that has benefitted from an abundance of musical instructors. Laura Cavacece is so dialed in. Joan Minnery encouraging her students to play live and teaching so well. Lastly there's me. More of a old punk rocker giving her tips and yelling at her. Regardless, these are the moments that melt an instructors heart and make us love what we do. May our future rock stars learn from this. So proud Maddisyn Challe

It's a very difficult time for small business owners. Most of us our doing everything we can to stay afloat. So just wanted to thank the person(s) that ripped our business sign off our building and trashed it. Joseph Vinegar O'Connor and I took great pride in our sign, and it's not something that we can just easily replace. We love our location and being a part of a group of entrepreneurs that are trying to give our downtown a positive reputation. Not fun getting kicked when you're down.
