You may think it's all beaches and airplanes but so much goes on behind the scenes of my travel business that you don’t get to see. You know, the less exciting stuff like researching and paperwork. Nothing gets me through those days where I’m pining for a relaxing day at the beach quite like coffee, lots of coffee. But I could always use a few more suggestions how do you jazz up the work day and make things more fun?
Ever wonder what we seasoned travel pros always travel with? I would never dream of boarding a plane without my camera. I know, I know, it sounds like a no-brainer but I couldn’t imagine being on a trip without it - I’d go crazy without it! What’s one thing you absolutely can’t and won’t travel without? Besides your passport of course!
New York City is the perfect couples’ vacation for city lovers. There are so many phenomenal things to see and do, whether it’s a quick weekend getaway to enjoy the highlights or a whole week fully immersing yourself in all the city has to offer. For a bird’s eye view of the city, the Empire State building is a natural pick, but the One World Observatory at Top of the Rock also offers impressive views. Take a romantic stroll through Central Park, or enjoy a show on Broadway, it’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences you’ll remember forever. Of course, if you’re a food there’s also the option to eat your way across the city enjoying dozens of different world cuisines at award-winning and Michelin-Star restaurants, cafes and bistros. Have you been to New York City?
With one day left in 2020 I’m feeling hopeful and excited for the new year to come. Between not being able to travel and not being able to see family, I think we can all agree that 2020 was a lesson in patience. I’m anxiously waiting to see how things unfold so we can all explore again. How are YOU feeling this New Year’s Eve?
This time of year always has me wondering where the time has gone. No surprise there though, this year has felt like 5 all in one. But it always has me reflecting on everything that's happened, and even though this year had been completely unexpected, there were still a few gems. For one, I got to enjoy some of Alberta's beautiful natural parks and learned to love the things in my own back yard. There were highs and there were lows. What about you? What's one gem you can appreciate from this crazy year? : @travelalberta /Sean Thonson
