For this Emotive Monday, I am trying to capture the feeling of non-sensational pain. Here’s a glimpse into my head when experiencing a Misophonia reaction. A trigger like sniffling is acknowledged by my brain as DANGER! It is interpreted as a threat that creates an immediate fight or flight response. My brain misinterprets the stimuli signals as affective pain which sets off a physical response, flooding my body with stress hormones. ...
