I also have many families ask how they help make their children a reader here a few things I regularly suggest. 1. Make reading fun and less stressful by sharing reading by each taking turns reading a page. 2. Set aside a few minutes where you read as a family everyone gets a book so your kids can see you enjoying reading... 3. For reluctant readers start off with the mindset that it doesn’t matter what they are reading just that they read magazines can be a great place to start (chikadee, chirp, owl, the hockey new) 4. Go the library and everyone finds a book your librarians are an amazing resource and know all the best books. Our local Brooklin library has an amazing selection of French books ranging from easy readers to adult chapter books.
