A REMINDER about our upcoming virtual "Create Your Own Home Retreat" on Saturday, Jan 16th - 10:00 to 12:00 noon Pacific. Designed to help you establish a routine of natural health and wellness, we will be exploring how to start a daily meditation practice, and provide information on Ayurveda - the world's oldest holistic healing system. Please drop us a message to register, and to have the Zoom meeting link sent to you in advance. Namaste
SAVE THE DATE for your Home Yoga Retreat! WHEN: Saturday January 16th, 2021 TIME: 10 a.m. - noon WHERE: Your home, our home - and together on the screen through ZOOM. COST: We are planning this home retreat as a karma offering. This means there is no fee to you, however we would like to do something to benefit our community. When we later send out the final invite to those wishing to join us, we will include a list of worthwhile charities that support women's health-ce...ntered needs and then do a poll (available on your ZOOM screen) while we are online together. Our itinerary: 1. Meditation: Explore the different meditation techniques and the shared benefits of mindfulness, concentration and insight when you develop (or establish) a daily meditation practice. 2. Ayurveda: The sister science to Yoga. How do you integrate the simple wisdom of this ancient holistic healing system into your life? And what does it have to do with your specific yoga practice? 3. Yoga Practice: A nourishing and rejuvenating gentle practice to help keep you grounded, release stress and tension in the body and mind and keep your joints and muscles happy and healthy. P.S. If you have friends or family whom you feel would enjoy and benefit from this Home Yoga Retreat, please share and know that yoga experience is not necessary - this is for everyone interested in pursuing a healthy, happy and balanced 2021! To be added to our mailing list: CONTACT: [email protected] OR call 778-350-4370
As the long-term forecast continues to be grim with predictions that COVID cases will continue into 2022, we are officially cancelling our annual yoga retreat for November 2020. In place of our away trip, and to allow us the ability to still gather together, we are in the early stages of planning a short 2-hour virtual retreat for this fall. With the possibility of further isolation periods ahead, we want to present some information that will help nourish, replenish & fortify... the space in your home. Content will potentially include Ayurveda, meditation and a discussion on how to sustain a home yoga practice. We hope that you will find this of interest, and join us as we share ideas on ways to cultivate new self-care rituals during these difficult times. While we fine tune our plans, please ask how you can join one of our many online Zoom yoga practices. Namaste
What is Yoga and why do we celebrate it? Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity.... Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Namaste
