Namaskar Brothers and Sisters! It’s an honor to invite you for the upcoming Summer Conference at Ananda Kanan from June 30 July 6, 2020. The retreat theme this year is ‘Moving Towards Mahavishva, the Great Universe,’ which is based on a discourse given by Baba in 1967. Among the highlights, we find the Ananda Mela, which this year has got a progressive ‘facelift’ with lots of exciting workshops and a special evening program. We are planning workshops on Kiirtana, Prabhat S...amgiita, Painting, and Poetry - to mention a few. There will be a Yoga Games workshop for the kids and a Magic & Clowning workshop for the youth. As part of the Ananda Mela, we are also planning a special symposium about Climate Change. Baba has graced us with some relevant information regarding this hot topic, which will be presented during the symposium. Two seminar classes that focus on spiritual and social topics will be presented. In addition, there will be a lecture on how to improve your meditation and one to get a deeper understanding of cakra, their functions, and relations to our spiritual practices. We have a special discount this year for Canadian Margiis! To register, please see: https://ampsnysconference.org/ananda-marga-summer-conferen/ Dear friends, mark your calendar, start planning your journey, and let’s make Baba happy by moving together towards Mahavishva!
The annual Prabhata Samgiita Divas RAWA Cultural Program took place on Saturday, September 14, at the Cyril Clark Library Theatre in Brampton. This year, around 140 people attended the three-hour-long cultural program. The special guest was Mr. Raj Grewal (MP of Brampton East Area.) The cultural program was diverse with dance, singing, and instrumental performances, as well as short talks and introductions. The dances used the Prabhata Samgiita music composed by Shrii Shrii A...nandamurtiji. This program was celebrating the thirty-seventh anniversary since Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji gave the first Prabhata Samgiita song in Deoghar, India, on September 14, 1982. The quality of the various performances was remarkable. The kids did particularly well in singing, playing musical instruments, and dancing. The invited professional musicians performed in a real devotional mood, and that touched most of the audience deeply, and the Margii brothers and sisters sang amazingly well. Ácarya Iishvarakrs’n’ánanda Avadhúta gave a speech emphasizing the need for a real human society based on the values of neohumanism. Mr. Raj Grewal expressed his gratitude for being invited to our unique devotional program. See more
We had a very blissful seminar and retreat at the SAJO Retreat Center in Quebec, Canada on August 2 - 4, 2019. The retreat center is close to our Master Unit, Ananda Kanak, in the middle of the forest, and we could enjoy good weather in a beautiful natural environment. This year, the program was so inspiring and devotional with lots of meditation and Kiirtana. We also had three seminar classes discussing the philosophy and social philosophy of Ananda Marga. More than thirty-five people participated in the program.
Dada Dayashiilananda is taking care of the Master Unit, Ananda Kanak, in the spring, summer, and fall. In the winter, he teaches classes at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. He organized a student yoga and meditation retreat at the Ananda Kanak on September 1 and 2, 2019. The students enjoyed singing and listening to Baba Nam Kevalam Kiirtana, meditating, and doing yoga. They were also joyfully playing in the yard, picking veggies from the garden, cooking the food together, and walking on trails inside the forest. They all liked the experience and are looking forward to future retreats.
On June 15 and 16, 2019 we had a meditation and yoga retreat at Ananda Kanak Master Unit for students of Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. We were twelve people, and we did lots of Kiirtana, meditation, and yoga. June 15 was very rainy, but with the return of the sun the following day, we went hiking in the forest. Some of the students helped me complete a few pending works in the yard and the vegetable garden. Everyone was happily involved in the preparation of the food we shared during the event. The retreat was a very relaxing and happy experience for the participants. "Dada, the Baba Nam Kevalam stuck in my mind; I keep on singing it. I don't know why!" one person said. And we all burst into laughter.
