Ancaster Pain Relief 18.11.2020

Well I took the plunge and opened up again. It has been wonderful to see clients again but a little nerve-wracking with Covid. Some of the steps I have taken: You can't come with any symptoms, even if you are sure it is just allergies. I will cancel appointments if I have symptoms. We both wear a mask for the whole session. I have masks if you forget yours.... I also add a face shield if I have to work near your head. There is hand sanitizer or you can wash your hands on arrival. I take your temperature on arrival and keep track of it. If it is over 100F, I cannot treat you. You sign a release form at the start of your first appointment. Before you arrive, all surfaces that you might touch will have been sanitized. In the room, there is an air purifier that goes down to 0.3 microns, the size of a virus. Windows are opened between clients. I also run a UV light with ozone at the end of each day. Anything that has touched your body gets sterilized before it is used again. Of course, linens were always changed with every client. Phew, I think that is everything! Contact me for an appointment!

So, baby steps are being taken to open things back up. I know that clients, especially those in pain, would like to come in. I am certainly not rushing things. You might wonder what steps I am taking to keep people safe. First, everything will be sanitized even more than it has been between clients. In the past, I have often allowed people with colds or sore throats to come anyway as I seldom get sick. That's not happening any more, so please don't ask.... I will have a touchless forehead thermometer. People can be contagious before they are aware. For some people, one of the earliest signs is a fever. Another thing recommended in some places is an oximeter. That is the device they clip on your finger to test your oxygen levels. Low oxygen levels can also be a sign you need medical assistance. I am also investing in an UV light with ozone. That means that the room can be deep cleaned, probably at least once per day. Initially, I will wear a mask and ask every client to wear a mask. I will have masks available for people who do not have them. Also initially, I will concentrate on the various forms of Reflexology and the Dolphin Microstim, any technique where you keep your clothes on. If I think of anything else, I will add to this. If you have any questions, go ahead and ask.

A wonderful article about feet, shoes and going barefoot. It is long but worth the time!

Excellent information about orthotics/orthoses. If you have trouble with your orthotics, the cause might not be your feet at all.

I have been working with a client who has had cancer surgery in the groin area. She had lymph edema in one leg. The main goal was to reduce the lymph. For this I have been using Reflexology Lymph Drainage and there has been improvement, although not as much as I would like. I was concerned at how fibrotic and keloid the scars were. Using primarily the Dolphin micro stim and Myofascial Release on the scars have improved both their texture and feel. The client saw the oncologist this week. "When my oncologist felt the surgical site she was shocked at how much the scar tissue has reduced!!! I credited you and the work you do and she was amazed!!!" Have I mentioned that I love what I do?!
