Hi friends, We want to thank all of our clients who have been cooperative during this difficult time, you have made it possible for us to remain open and care for your furry family. Our Pick up window and double front doors have helped us be there for the community, all while keeping social distancing intact. As many of you heard, the government of Ontario has announced that veterinarian services will be open as of May 19th. This means we can now accept all appointments suc...h as spays, neuters, nail trims, vaccines, or any regular appointments as well as urgent care appointments. We will still be taking the necessary precautions and practicing social distancing to prevent any hazardous conditions that may come up. We will continue using our side pick-up window for medication and food purchases, to avoid direct contact with any of the staff. Our front door will remain locked; we will continue to ask anyone who is here for appointments to remain in your car or in the front vestibule (which is cleaned between each appointment). If you’re here for an appointment or you simply wish to talk to the staff or the Doctor, we will meet you in the vestibule where we can speak freely with the safety of the glass door. When coming for an appointment our staff will meet you in the front and will bring your pet inside, you will be able to watch the examination from behind the glass door, if you wish. We will be limiting to one appointment at a time to make sure that we have time to clean. We are eager to do our part helping the community and we appreciate everyone who has helped us make these changes easier. We’re in this together! -Ancaster Animal Hospital See more

A friendly reminder as the weekend approaches

Ancaster Animal Hospital 28.08.2020

Hello friends, We hope everyone is doing well during these hard times. We just wanted to update everyone on how the hospital has been dealing with COVID-19. We are still open for appointments, we have decreased access into the hospital. We ask that everyone remain in the front vestibule or in their cars. Please give us a call when you arrive.... We will then inform you of our procedures before bringing your pet inside for their appointment. Payment arrangements can be made by credit card over the phone or by tap. We will also be slightly decreasing our hours of operation. We are now opening at 8:30 am and closing at 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. Saturdays will remain the same 9 am to 2 pm. If you have an appointment and have been out of the country or experiencing any symptoms, please call us and we will reschedule your appointment for a later time. We want to apologize that there may be longer wait times as we are working with minimum staff and frequently sanitizing for everyone's safety. We hope everyone stays safe! Ancaster Animal Hospital

Today, I was reminded of how amazing the community I live and work in is. ANCASTER IS AN AMAZING PLACE TO WORK AS A VETERINARIAN, because here, you are more than just another doctor, YOU ARE PART OF THE FAMILY. Me and our team wanted TO EXPRESS THE BIGGEST AND MOST HEARTFELT THANKS we could TO OUR LOVING AND CARING CLIENTS who is supporting us during this difficult time. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion to say the least: Where else, do you have clients like Louise ...who will spend the time and effort to make homemade masks for your veterinarian and deliver it; Where else, do you have people like Rhonda who call and check in on our wellbeing Where else, can you find twenty dear friends and clients who pick up signage from your hospital and plant them in their own front yards, all for free or Where else, are people like Nisha who used to bring us homemade cookies all the time, and now, is bringing us store bought cookies, just because she couldn’t bake properly with COVID-19 disruptions. Everyone here at Ancaster Animal Hospital are feeling very proud to serve you. We cannot ask for any better clients than this. THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS. As we know, pet diseases and parasite menace are not on lockdown even though we are. We are keeping the business open through this difficult time, though with some added restrictions and precautions to practice social and physical distancing, for both our safety and yours. Each client and patient will take a bit more time to help than before, as we must clean the clinic between clients. To practice social distancing between clients and workers, and we are trying do this with a skeletal staff. Though these restrictions are there, REST ASSURED, YOUR FURRY FRIENDS WILL BE TAKEN CARE WITH SAME PASSION THAT WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD. We are really sorry for the inconvenience and hoping that we will be out of this situation soon. Dr. Mathews and the Ancaster Animal Hospital Team

Please note the following protocols we have adopted to help control the spread of COVID-19 and to minimize everyone’s exposure risks. In order to protect our staff and clients, we have restricted access to our building. o Upon arrival to our hospital, please call us at (905)648-2142 to alert us of your arrival. o Our technicians will guide you into the front vestibule where you can stay and we will bring your pet into the hospital for their appointment. o We will examin...e your pet in the front lobby, and we will get you to give us a history through the window. o We will check you out over the phone and return your pet after your visit. Please note this policy also applies to surgical drop-offs, food and medication pickups. If you or someone in your household is sick, please reschedule any non-urgent appointments until a later date. If your pet needs more urgent care, please let us know so we can help you coordinate care for your pet. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we develop strategies to provide care for you and your family, while protecting the community as a whole. See more

Ancaster Animal Hospital would like to address the current state of COVID-19; our priority is taking all necessary precautions and preventative measures to keep your pets, yourself, and our staff risk free to help reduce the spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) As such, staff temperatures will be checked daily before their shift and proper safety measures involving hand washing, mask wearing, etc. will be taken. Facilities will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. At this time... we are remaining open, but we are reducing traffic into the hospital. If you have an appointment already scheduled, we ask that only one person accompany the pet during the visit. We are still selling food and refilling medications. If you are planning on visiting the hospital, we kindly ask anyone who is experiencing cold symptoms or have recently traveled out of the country, please contact us first regarding your needs. We will update you if anything changes. Stay healthy, Ancaster Animal Hospital See more
