There is no such thing as the wrong horse. Not every horse that comes into your life will be exactly what you want, in fact very few will be, but whether the ...come temporarily, or stay forever, every horse comes for a reason. That reason is not always clear. It can feel like all some horses bring is stress, pain and heartache. It can sometimes feel so ‘wrong’ that you can’t see how any good could ever come from it. But the most valuable lessons come from the ‘wrong’ horses. When you get up after eating dirt after being thrown for the third time that ride, you’ll find resilience you never knew you had. When your tired of sitting at the side lines, watching your friends having fun whilst your horse is still chapters behind, you’ll find patience within yourself that you didn’t know was there. When your sick of spending every ride questioning your ability and second guessing yourself, you’ll dig deep and find the self belief that’s always been hidden inside you. And when you meet a horse that is so broken, even giving the very best of yourself won’t fix it, you’ll find a selflessness in you to make sure that horse never knows anything but love. Patience, resilience, determination, selflessness aren’t easy lessons, but we’re better riders for learning them. You may think you’ve got the wrong horse, but you’ve actually got the right horse to teach the hardest lessons. Learn well. - Quote by Kind permission of cromwellandlucy You can find Lucys book - www.cromwellandlucy.co.uk Ally Wilson Photography Edward Doyle

FAQ: Do you have openings for lessons? -Currently I am full but hoping to have a few more spots open up next year if I get another lesson horse in my program! ... Do you do lessons during the winter? -I don’t have an indoor arena so I am unable to do lessons in the winter but it is possible to do haul ins to the local arena. Do you have openings for training? -I have limited spots open for training but I do take in some horses! Do you have your own lesson horses? -I have two very special lesson horses in my program and I hope to add one or two more next year. I love when people bring their own horses to ride!

Anchor S Equine Ltd. 27.09.2020

People ask me all the time why my training program includes time with the horse just standing tied. This picture is a good example as to why I do that. I was te...aching lessons out of town for a week and I had this horse that was just a bit of a hard head. He wasn’t trying to buck me off or anything blatantly disobedient...but just wouldn’t settle, was always on edge. I tied him up when I was done riding him and he dug this hole within 20 minutes. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but he dug down a good 2 1/2 feet! He had no patience, no willingness to relax. He spent hours tied up before and after his lesson. It took him days to finally stand and relax. I can not impress enough the importance of teaching horses to stand quietly and calmly. While just tying the horse does not train them, it does help them learn patience and that WILL transfer into the saddle! For those riders/owners in colder climates, take some time this winter and teach your horses to willingly stand tied. You will be surprised the difference in your horse once they give in and learn to patiently wait!! #horsmanequineeducation #aqha #younghorsetraining #coltstarting #nrha #nrcha #younghorsetraining #aqhaprofessional #professionalhorseman See more
