This morning I’d like to share with you the next garment Sneak Peek in the Lascaux Fine 2021 collection releasing February 4! This is the Brindled Pullover by @fondlepatterns and it’s a gorgeous classic sweater that takes me right back to my most beloved pullover that I wore for a decade or more. This handsome classic is going to be a wardrobe staple and is worked top down with no seaming! It’s a marled sweater with two strands held together to give you a thick squishy DK fabric so it knits up quickly. It’s a unisex design with inclusive sizing from bust 30-62 and if you prefer a straight hem instead of the shirt-tail hem instructions are included for that too! We will have kits fo this delightful sweater in a range of colours as well as a build your own option, coming February 5!

I’m really looking forward to our next online event - a fabulous weekend with @knitcitycanada ! You’re going to want to check this event out, and soon, because it’s going to be a blast! There are wonderful classes, a fabulous trunk show/marketplace starring your favourite vendor (or vendors), and lots more! Our trunk show will go live on Saturday February 6 at 1:30-2:30pm Pacific Time, and we will be showing off our Lascaux Fine 2021 collection, talking about this amazing yarn, running our soon to be world famous scavenger hunt, doing a fantastic prize draw for the people attending the session, AND doing some Q & A with some of the designers from this collection! You won’t want to miss it!

I love the happy glow of yarn as the sun comes up over HoneyComb and Dear Little Buttercup. I walked into the studio this morning and the whole place just glowed this morning thanks to these two colourways so I had to share that moment!

I’ve been excited quite a bit so far in 2021 and today is no exception! This weekend we did a sneak peek at Vogue Knitting Live of the Lascaux Fine 2021 Collection and I’m just thrilled to start introducing it to everyone! This collection of 14 designs will launch on February 5, 2021 and it’s been in the works for nearly two years now. It’s incredibly challenging to build a design collection during a pandemic but with the help of the amazing designers who have been working u...s on this collection, my amazing staff, and wonderful photographers like @spydphotography and @simplysuperfluous it’s all come together into something we are really proud of! The theme for this collection is all about diversity; it’s about our roots and where we come from; it’s about where we are going; and it’s very much about the connections between us as people in both space and time. This first design I’m showing you today is mine and it’s called the Oak Leaf and Acorn Shawl. I chose it to begin this series with because I’ve put all of these themes into this design. It uses a yarn that incorporates both Old World and New World wool, bringing together a multi-millennia long tradition of working with wool and the many cultures who do so. It uses stitches and ways of knitting that go back many generations as knitting ties us to our ancestors. For this shawl I adapted a lace pattern from the 1800’s, but I put it into a modern shawl with my own method of shaping. This shawl is modern but harks back to the very long history of shawl wear we see all over the world. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the creative process and will enjoy the rest of the collection as I share it with you over the coming weeks!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! We had a blast meeting and being inspired by amazing people through @vogueknitlive and are itching to practice some of what we learned. This stunning lace shawl by @rhyflowerknits is the perfect way for a lace knitter to take that inspiration to the next level! It’s brand new and just released today. Make sure to check it out as this designer writes such beautiful patterns! #Repost @rhyflowerknits with @make_repost ... Can you believe it? The third installment for the Eternal Collection is finally here! Eternal Devotion has arrived! This highly engaging crescent-shaped shawl pattern is highly versatile should larger sizes be desired as the sections stack easily on themselves, resulting in just doing more repeats in the section of your choosing. A special 50% discount code for Ravelry and my website can be found in the Facebook Group, valid until January 22nd! A low-visibility version of the pattern is on Ravelry and my website.
