We’re excited to support a co-designed Artist’s Almanac that will connect Indigenous, Black, and marginalized artists on Turtle Island to the resources they need. Join Lupe along with Suzanne Kite, Alisha Wormsley and Lindsay Nixon for a roundtable discussion to co-imagine the shape of this tool. Read more about the project and register for the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1050631252045200 An Artist’s Almanac Participatory Roundtable with Suzanne Kite Novembe...r 13, 2020 5:00-7:00pm This online public participatory roundtable hosted by Kite and co-facilitated with Alisha Wormsley, Lindsay Nixon and Guadalupe Pérez Pita brings collaborators and co-conspirators of the Artist’s Almanac, a research and organizational project undertaken with the support of the Feminist Media Studio and the Digital Economies Lab to deliver resources and information to Indigenous, Black, and marginalized artists in Turtle Island (also referred to as North America). The Almanac seeks to imagine backwards, from a future where such artists have access to the resources they need and want to the present, where such information is collected into easily legible and printable resources.
Care based approaches to surviving 2020: we've been shoring up our #studiocare practices in preparation for election day. Here are our plans as a #designjustice studio for surviving whatever lies ahead. https://www.andalsotoo.net//care-based-approaches-to-surv/
We were honoured to design the new look and feel for this year’s LEVEL Youth Policy Program. Hosted by the Vancouver Foundation, the program brings together a cohort of Indigenous, racialized, immigrant, refugee, and LGBTQ2S+ youth to learn about public policy and how to shape it. Earlier this year, we designed the program workbook, an in-classroom guide for faculty and program participants. The design depicts the systemic disruption young people can create as agents of policy change. A rigid, inhumane system is transformed when touched by the energy and ideas of young people.
