Hey Canadian SLPs, Professional Development Opportunity on Racism: Dr. Latimer-Hearn discusses structural institutional racism, negative narratives and stereotypes, how to promote understanding and awareness of disparate access to education, and contributing factors of inequity in speech therapy. This will be a 2-hour course on the relevant topic of racism, will count towards CLACs, and is presented by a black PhD SLP with extensive education and experience on the topic. Th...e last half-hour will be reserved for a facilitated conversation about Canadian experience. This is a crowd-funded PD: We need a minimum number of attendees to book the event. We are setting the ticket price at $25 pp for live event + access to the slides afterwards. We will reduce the cost if there are more attendees and will try to cover the remainder of the costs if there are less. Please share!
