Today is Remembrance Day which gives us the opportunity to look back on all who have served in our countries defence. The City of Greater Sudbury Archives has many informative online resources pertaining to the World Wars, such as, "The Book of Remembrance:" https://www.archeion.ca/book-of-remembrance and its associated guide which recently had another 25 soldiers added: https://www.archeion.ca/reference-guide-for-the-book-of-rem.

The Greater Sudbury Museums (which include the Anderson Farm Museum) are hiring a full-time intern! This is a year-long position. The posting period is quite short (it closes on October 8th) so interested applicants should not wait long to apply! Please note: Because the position is funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, specific requirements for eligibility apply. While the requirements state "must be the first instance of employment in field of study", n...ot all work in a museum setting "counts" as a previous instance of employment according to the grant. For example: unpaid/volunteer work and some part-time and temporary work including less than a year of full time work does not necessarily exclude you from being eligible. If you meet all of the other requirements but are unsure about your eligibility based on past work, please contact us at [email protected]. For all other inquiries, detailed information about the position, and to apply, please visit the link below. https://www.greatersudbury.ca//curatorial-assistant-funde/ See more

The 3rd Sunday in September is usually the day we host the Annual Creighton Reunion. We would like to confirm that this event is cancelled for this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we do have something fun to share - an album of photos from the First Annual Creighton Reunion back in 1989 :) We're trying to identify as many people in the photographs as possible - if you recognize someone (or yourself!) please leave us a comment if you have a Flickr account or are w...illing to sign up for one (totally free). If you'd like to leave us info about one or more photos without having to sign up for anything, please use the form at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F9NTMWH Feel free to use this form to share any of your Creighton reunion memories with us too! Stay safe, and hopefully we'll see you all in September 2021! Sudbury Tourism https://flic.kr/s/aHsmQG9Gyi

Here it is! Our September craft for kids... String art is super fun and can be as simple or complicated as your abilities permit. For older kids, try a pattern nailed into a slab of wood or pins in a cork board tile.

For those of you who didn't see this over at the main Greater Sudbury Museums page, here is Pop Machine's tribute to the Rock the Farm summer concert series (Rock the Farm is organized and operated by the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society - AFMHS). We feel so privileged to have been the host for this incredible event over the years, and look forward to the time we can (safely) host it again!! Thanks for the sweet tunes, Pop Machine! And thanks to the Greater Sudbury Public Library whose communication, planning and facilitation made this happen!!
