Now that we have some new faces here, I thought it was Jess about time I re-introduce myself! My name is Jess! (@_jess_anotherflorist )! I’m a professionally trained and certified floral designer, a wife to a race car loving equipment salesman and a mom to a spunky (almost) 2 year old boy. We live in our cozy house in Oshawa and I own 4 flower shops in the Durham Region. As a teenager I had a small dream while working in a little flowershop in Whitby. A dream to make ...beautiful flowers for the beautiful people of Bowmanville, ON Canada. And thankfully, my mom, my dad and my sister all agreed they could hop on board and help me reach my one little goal - making bouquets! As time went on, I realized what I REALLY loved to do, was WEDDINGS! I love everything about them! The couples, the flowers, the styles, the love stories! You name it, I love it. I even love the rush of the deadlines, the perishable product and the stress of getting everything together and delivered on time (actually probably my favourite part). I soon realized that more and more DIY brides were coming into the shop looking for advise, product and guidance on how to do what I do, but on their own, because they also loved the idea of the craft behind the bouquets... and so my brain started thinking. If there are so many brides out there looking for assistance DIY-ing their weddings, how can I help even more? And thus, the DIY Wedding Class was born! 10 Years later (where does the time go?!) We are rocking 4 locations in Durham Region and one of those is that little shop in Whitby where it all began. We moved that location into a HUGE design studio fit for a wedding flower workshop, were we are Durham Region's Number One place for DIY Wedding Classes, catered directly to the bride! I’m hoping this page will showcase my favourite work, my design tips/tricks, some DIY helpful hints and, help me get to know all of you little bit better!
