There is something so nostalgic to me about vintage typewriters. They are beautiful pieces of art to me. I feel the same way about old sewing machines ... neither of which I would actually use today, but they sure are pretty to look at! When it comes to writing I prefer the convenience of modern technology. This way when I make a mistake (trust me there are plenty) I can manipulate the text to make them disappear. Anyone else feeling me on this? Thankfully I am my own boss and I don't have to drive anywhere to get to work. That still doesn't stop me from breaking down from time to time! Yesterday was one of those days.... Usually I use writing as a tool to dig me out of the deep corners of my mind, but yesterday I was too deep in and got lost. Thankfully I've got an amazing support that helped me through and there has been beautiful sunshine to support my self care practice. Today I am feeling myself again and ready to put pen to paper. Vulnerability ... this blog post was somewhat enigmatic for me to write. I spent a lot of time in my constructed identity trying to figure out how to write an article on vulnerability without being vulnerable. Well it turns out in the end I somewhat failed. I had to dip my toe in the rawness of it to pull this out. I know I could have gone deeper but for today, I will leave you with this in hopes that you can in some way relate

WRITER'S BLOCK. It's a real thing. Sometimes I sit down to write and words flow out of my fingertips so effortlessly that I have to go back and read what I have written because I am actually not sure what came out. It is as if the words magically flow through me. Other times nothing comes out. Like nadda. ... Zip Zero Zilch At times I even have trouble at times grasping onto a concept of what I want to write about. These are the times when I know I must go to the forest. When I am not connecting to words it is because I am not connecting to myself. The forest is often where I will find me. It is where I can put my roots down into the earth and regain the connection to oneness that we all are. I was chatting with a friend the other day about how it is sometimes hard to capture the essence of a feeling and put it into words. Sometimes emotions are just too full for language to embody it. It is a true art form for a writer to be able to express big emotions in the container of language, and sometimes it's just impossible. The expansiveness and possibilities that exist in our world often go far beyond what language can convey. Sometimes words will only get ...us part of the way there and the rest of the journey is found through the energy of the expressed emotions.
