From monsters yesterday to dinosaurs today. This cake went out for a little customer who LOVES dinosaurs. And princesses. So the cake had to be Dino glam. Inside it was 4 layers of vanilla cake (tinted blue because Elsa is her favorite princess but pink matched the decorations ). Outside it featured shades of pink in the Swiss meringue buttercream, gold Dino footprints, golden dinosaurs, partial chocolate drip and lots of chocolate rocks. When the little girl who got this cake was asked what kind of cake she would like, her response was pink cake. So pink cake is what she got. . The vanilla cake layers were tinted soft pink as was the Swiss meringue buttercream wrapping up the outside of the cake. Lots of sprinkles, a fluffy pink border and white drip finished it off. The night sky and the great outdoors. These were things I was told that the recipient of this cake enjoys. So I decided to do a night scene of sorts, with a modified galaxy cake to represent the night sky and pallet knife pine trees in the shadows along the bottom. I have to say I was really pleased with how it came out. Inside, there were layers of moist carrot cake with cream cheese filling. The traditional gift for a 40th anniversary is rubies. So the mandate for this 40th anniversary cake was ruby red and gold. When you are working with these colors, you know the cake is going to be dramatic! So we went all out. Can you believe the flowers that I got from @allaboutflowersyorkton ?
