The Lester B. Pearson School Board was the first school board to buy the ventilation units, according to the employees at Saint-John Fisher. The school had one in a classroom for a student with heavy dust allergies, b...ut has now installed over twenty units in all of its classrooms. Ralph and Yves said that they would also be doing a few others schools in the district. It appears that the Lester B. Pearson School Board is the only one to have paid the money to get these filters for now, according to the school's caretaker. Today I can very proudly announce that Duchenne was named as one of the winners for the Student Work category of @PhotoPlusOfficials The Photo Annual Awards (Part of PDN). I’m glad that it has touched people as much as this family has touched me. J.J. is a 13-year-old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The disease, more common in males, causes progressive weakness and loss of muscular mass. This process speeds... up once the person is wheelchair-bound. J.J.is also on the autism spectrum. Every member of his family is also on the autism spectrum. The family has had several strokes of luck in the last six months: they were able to buy a specialized van that allows them to travel with J.J's wheelchair; they will be able to receive J.J.'s osteoporosis medication free of charge; they went on a Disney cruise through the Make-A-Wish foundation; and Habitat for Humanity has found land for their new home.
