Continuing with travel images I’ve captured... Mahahual, Mexico. 2016. The people in this small town we stayed in (pop. 1000) were wonderfully kind. They had few material possessions but seemed completely content in this life. An example to us in the developed world that happiness comes from within. Side note - This trip was my first experience shooting medium format film. I shot one frame per subject and moved on. This was a little nerve racking to shoot and have to wait a month until the lab sent me the proofs. I will say, this style of shooting, however, was liberating. Amongst all the sickness and struggles this past year for people all over the world, we have also set aside some of the pleasures in life, like the joy of traveling. I’m fortunate to be healthy as well as my family and friends. So I am grateful. But damn do I miss the adventures of traveling with camera in hand.
