This week is Breastfeeding Week. THEY say Breast is Best... I say Fed is Best. There should be no guilt if you cannot or do not want to breastfeed. Here is my story. With my first baby, I knew I wanted to breastfeed. In my mind that was what you did. I tried so very hard to breastfeed. I listened intently to the nursesn at the hospital. I even got to stay an extra day because I wanted to make sure that I HAD it... I got home and struggled and struggled. After three days, I g...ave up. I felt sooo very guilty for years after that. I was determined to make it work the next time around. Second baby comes along. She cried 20 hours a day and slept in 15 minute increments. After 6 months of this, I tried her on soy formula. She was instantly a different baby. So then I felt guilty about forcing it on her. My last three babies breastfed beautifully and self weened at 6 months. I would have like to have gone a full year, but you have to liaten to your body and your baby. Love yourself and your baby.
