Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) What is it? The carpal tunnel is a narrow tube in your wrist. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is when the space (carpal tunnel) in your wr...ist narrows. The narrowing is caused by inflammationwhich will cause entrapment of the median nerve located on palm side of your hand. It can causepain, numbness and weakness throughout your hand and fingers. The most common symptoms are seen in the the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and half of the ring finger. Massage therapy is an effective way to help relieve CTS-related symptoms. Massage techniques help lengthen the muscles and fascial restrictions in the neck, shoulders, arms, and wrist, which will help reduce any CTS-related symptoms. Benefits of Massage therapy for CTS Reduce inflammation Reduce pain Reduce numbness #rmt #mobilermt #torontormt #northyorkrmt #massagetherapy #therapeuticmassage #painrelief #carpaltunnelsyndrome

Studies from the National Health Institute show that the psychological benefits of Massage Therapy can be just as vital as the physical benefits. A 60 minute ma...ssage can lower cortisol (stress hormone) by an average of 30 percent. As cortisol levels decline, serotonin (one of the body’s anti-pain mechanisms) increases by an average of 28 percent. By lowering cortisol and increasing serotonin, you’re increasing your body’s ability to fight off pain, anxiety and depression. #rmt #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #massagetherapy

Love massages but unable to lay on your stomach?! Let’s talk about side-line massage! Most commonly used for prenatal massages but this positioning is also u...sed for clients who are unable to lay on their stomach due to low back pain or injury. Pillows are placed under your neck/shoulders, in front of your abdomen and between your knees - this provides support and will keep you comfortable throughout your massage. #rmt #massagetherapy #torontormt #painrelief #deeptissuemassage #painmanagement #prenatalmassage See more

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body and helps everything move in relation to each other. Myofascial ...tightness can develop in any area of the body. Fascia restrictions can cause pain or tightness locally, but it can also affect different parts of your body. What is myofasfial release? Myofascial release is a manual treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. It is an effective technique that involves either using cupping therapy or by applying gentle sustained pressure without lotion into the connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. #rmt #myofascialrelease #cuppingtherapy #cupping #massagetherapy #painrelief #healthandwellness #massagetherapist #torontormt See more
