Angela’s Attic 01.04.2021

Several months ago I talked about a special project I was planning to do. This is the start! With the help from Prima Redesign and Windsor Plywood PG, this stunning vintage head & foot board will be brought to a new life! Repurposed as a beautiful sitting bench, in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. A very special thank you to my friends Nadine & Scott who gave me the head & foot board And to my wonderful husband Tim Henson who is doing the building of it

And the reveal of this lovely little jelly cabinet for my client. The colours are beautiful together with the Fusion Cranberry, Dixie Bell Black Wax and warm wood tone with GF Candlelite and the slight amber tone from Arm R Seal. Thank you Karen for allowing me to redesign this very special cabinet Reds are very difficult to photograph and this cabinet is by far more beautiful and vibrant in person.

Finishing up this jelly cabinet..... Once painted in Cranberry, i stenciled the shelf edges and bottom with black, copper metallic and vintage gold metallic. I dry brushed with black the inside and outside corners to add a deeper definition. Let this all dry well before applying Dixie Bell’s black wax. DB wax is a water based wax to define details and deepen tones and is a must to seal after dry. Using my wax brush, coat the area you want and then wipe back the excess. It looks really messy when it goes on as you want to make sure it gets in all nooks and crannies. After about 36 hours I sealed with a water based clear coat with 3 coats on the shelves and 2 on the body. The top has 3 coats of Arm R Seal from General Finishes for excellent durability once cure. This cabinet turned out beautiful!
