Change I think is something that can send even the bravest souls running the other way. Unknown is scary because well you don't know, but to live is to change. Nothing ever stays the same. Our earth is a beautiful representation of that. To live is to grow, if a plant is no longer growing then it is no longer alive. Life is change. So let yourself grow and face the fear. I have noticed that some people seem to come to yoga classes thinking it's going to be easy, relaxing, won't break a sweat etc. Yoga can be relaxing if your relaxed while you do it. Yoga amplifies whatever you are feeling. Yoga is a practice of focused attention. It's about looking at every aspect of yourself and letting go of your ego. Yoga takes the impossible and makes it possible. It is a replica of life. You have to work hard. It requires patience, it brings up anxiety, ...sadness and anger. Don't get me wrong yoga can make you feel great but it's not all rainbows and butterflies. Yoga is about the present moment. What you are feeling here and now and just being with it. The reason we do asana based yoga is in order to access the mind we must begin with the body. So yes this means it's going to hurt. You are going to sweat like crazy. Every pose will seem impossible. You will want to give up everyday. Don't give up. Through practice it all becomes possible. If you practice all the sudden what once seemed impossible is possible. So the next time you go to a yoga class and think this is too hard just remember that just because something seems impossible today doesn't mean you won't be able to do it tomorrow. Yoga is about discipline, diligence, repetition, determination, acceptance and practice. Yoga is hard. Life is hard. Don't be lazy and give up just because its difficult. Happiness is something we all seek. We try to find it in everything we do, work, food, friends, love etc. Happiness is not something you can find. It's within you. It is a state of being not something you can buy or find in another person. Happiness is living in the present moment and not constantly looking forward to the future. Happiness is enjoying the little thing like feeling the chilli morning air on your skin, listening to the chirping birds, seeing the morning due on ...the grass and the smell of rain. This a great way to begin to open up your Backbends. If you feel comfortable in full wheel, start to play a little and see if you can walk your hands forward. Hands are shoulder width apart and feet are hips with apart. Squeeze your perineum and remember to breath. Backbends open up the front of the body and forward bends open up the back of the body. In life there are many ups and downs.It is easy to get discouraged by situations, others and yourself. It can be hard to keep going. Its about finding the strength to not give up no matter how many times you fail, you just have to keep picking yourself up. Anything is possible the only thing holding you back is fear of failure. You will fail again and again but what matters is that you never stop getting up, no matter how hard it gets. Ardah Sirsasana or Half headstand is a great way to practice core stability and strength. In order to do this pose you have to draw in your stomach, squeeze your buttocks and move your hips back.

Monday August 15th - Friday August 19th, and Monday August 22nd - Friday August 26th 9AM-12PM.Ages 12-18 are welcome. This Camp will educate, and inspire youth about health, yoga and fitness. The primary focus is to teach functional health and fitness skills through education, yoga, and calisthenic workouts. The hope is that youth will carry on the skills they have learned outside the program and into their daily lives.
