State of emergency in Pipestone The Rural Municipality of Pipestone declared a state of emergency on Sunday due to overland flooding caused by the excessive rainfall. Reeve Ross Tycoles said the area received 150 millimetres of rain and up to 10 homes had to be evacuated in the community of Cromer overnight.... A number of roads in the municipality have been closed until further notice. View the full list of road closures on the RM's website. As well, the Manitoba government has closed the following sections of highway due to water on the roads: - Highway 2 from the Saskatchewan border to Highway 256. - Highway 256 for two kilometres south of Highway 2. - Highway 256 from highway 257 to Highway 2. (Local traffic only) - Highway 254 from Highway 2 to Highway 251. (Local traffic only) - Highway 252 from Highway 2 to Highway 345. (Local traffic only) The main road to the Brandon airport was closed due to flooding as of Sunday morning, but an airport official told CBC News the runways are not affected.
