Recipe of the week! Your overall health is important to your oral health! So every Wednesday we are happy to bring you a Healthy recipe Need some Energy! Try these Cranberry Pistachio Energy Bites... Kick up your energy with these simple and healthy no-bake Cranberry Pistachio Energy Bites! Ingredients 8 oz. (about 1 packed cup) chopped dates 1/2 cup honey 1 Tbsp. chia seeds (optional) 1 Tbsp. ground flax seeds or wheat germ pinch of salt 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats (dry, not cooked) 1 cup shelled pistachio nuts 1 cup dried cranberries 1/3 cup white chocolate chips (optional) Method Combine the dates, honey, chia seeds, flax seeds and salt in a food processor, and pulse until smooth and combined. You should be able to stir the mixture -- if it is too thick, add in another tablespoon or two of honey. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl, and stir in the oats, pistachios, dried cranberries, and white chocolate chips until evenly combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Once the mixture is cool (and easier to work with), use a spoon or cookie scoop to shape it into your desired size of energy balls. (Mine were about 1-inch in diameter.) Alternately, you can line a small baking pan with parchment paper, and press the mixture evenly into the pan, let it cool, and then cut into bars. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. (Storing them in the refrigerator especially helps the energy bites hold their shape.)

Learn why dental health is so important?
TRUTH: When tooth decay begins, there typically aren’t sensations of pain. Pain is an indicator of more serious dental issues. Visit your dentist regularly for your routine dental hygiene appointments and prevent issues before they start. #dentaldecay #visityourdentist #rainbowdentalcentre #angusontario

Dental X-rays (radiographs) are images of your teeth that we use to evaluate your oral health. These X-rays are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums. X-rays are patient specific and ordered by the dentist. If a patient had few or no fillings, x-rays may be indicated only 18-24 months. On the other hand, if a patient has several filled teeth, missing teeth and diet high in sugar - x-rays are indicated 12-18 months. Betwe...en visits, if a problem or accident occurs, an x-ray may be needed even if you had them taken recently. We can not see new issues on old x-rays. Certain medical conditions or testing could defer your x-rays into the future-please advise your dental professional of any recent medical changes. We are always welcome to answer your questions at the time of your appointment. #rainbowdentalcentre #dentalxray
