The Canadian Physiotherapy Association Statement on "The Role of Physiotherapy in Keeping Canadians Safe During the COVID-19 Pandemic" Phy...siotherapy and rehabilitation play an essential role in the context of infectious disease outbreaks. Physiotherapy can mitigate adverse impacts due to respiratory and mobility complications associated with infectious disease outbreaks. The care and treatment offered by physiotherapists is crucial in keeping Canadians healthy and active, and in preventing the need to access urgent or emergency services in-hospital. Physiotherapy can reduce the burden on the medical system through improving patient function and independence, and allowing them to return to their homes sooner, freeing up much needed hospital resources. Physiotherapy is important to improve physical and mental well-being for patients diagnosed with an infectious disease, as well as for those in isolation and self-quarantine. Physiotherapy can help Canadians to return to their communities, families, and employment faster, thus reducing the societal and financial impacts of infectious disease. As health care professionals, physiotherapists are trained in, and adhere to, strict infection control practices to keep Canadians safe See more

Dear Client In light of the ever changing spread of COVID-19 we ask anyone that has traveled outside of the country or have been in contact with an individual... who displayed flu-like symptoms to kindly isolate and wait the 14 days before coming to see us for your appointment. Also anyone experiencing flu like symptoms to call us and reschedule your appointments. Together we can prevent the spread of the virus and also keep our loved ones safe. We would like for everyone to keep in mind that majority of us are self-employed; consequently, it is very hard to take any amount of sick time. Thank you all! We appreciate your understanding and consideration. Lets all stay safe and well! Kind regards, On Track Physiotherapy Team See more

A first in Canada! This morning, Dr. Antonios El Helou, a Horizon neurosurgeon, successfully performed the first surgery in Canada to relieve pain in patients ...suffering from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) at Horizon's The Moncton Hospital. Dr. El Helou performed the surgery on Catherine, a patient who has suffered from chronic pain for years. He implanted Abbott’s new neuromodulation system, known as the Proclaim DRG Neurostimulator System for dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation and we filmed the entire procedure! Stay tuned for an in-depth look inside the surgery and hear from Catherine and her health-care team. --- Une grande première au pays a eu lieu ce matin à L’Hôpital de Moncton!
