The collector even has several original hand blown glass ornaments called Kugels, from the German word kugeln mean a round or ball shape. Today, the Gingy is teaching Wilde and me how to make the perfect gingerbread cookies for Santa! With the cooler weather upon us, it’s time to stretch our legs and go on explore Tillsonburg in all its autumn colours. With the help of Joan McCann (Artist/Illustrator) and Eugene Allan (Researcher), each day we will be sharing information about a historical house/building in town, that you can view on your fall walks. #AnnandaleNHS #Fall #HistoricalHomes/Buildings #Architecture #Tillsonburg 16 Harvey Street, named the Waller House at construction was built at the end of the... 1800s. The roof lines are irregular containing a wide pitch to allow for several gable projections. Identical patterns are uses doe each gable, consisting of solid, enclosed boarders and an inverted fan motif which filled the peaks. Simple brackets outline the wide eaves on the main roof. The front balcony and verandah are identical with their urned pillars, long, intricate brackets and upper spool borders. The oval window, which lights the side entrance was added when the building was divided into apartments. This house is still stands today and is an apartment building. See more
