Halloween always gets us thinking about next year's parade and what creative entries we might see! Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone!!

You might remember back in May that we announced Katrina Barrett (2018 Summer Student and now Board Member) had been selected to participate in the 2020 Youth Inspired! Program hosted by the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions funded by Canadian Heritage. Due to COVID-19, fairs and exhibitions across the country did not take place, meaning Katrina did not get to go participate in a coveted work experience at another fair or exhibition across Canada. Well, great news...! Katrina has been selected to participate in the Youth Inspired! Program again this year - not missing out on this great professional development opportunity. From November 2020 to Summer 2021, Katrina will get to participate in virtual learning events as well as get hands on experience at another fair or exhibition in Summer 2021! The Youth Inspired! Program is open to youth between the ages of 18 to 30. The program allows participants to: activate and participate in a Youth Inspired! committee, with a mandate to develop their communications skills and provide better services to Future Leaders and all members, participate in a work experience at another fair or exhibition across Canada, participate in professional development training for Future Leaders, host their own Youth Inspired meeting in their community to foster growth and develop other potential Future Leaders and their skills. The Barrett Family has a long history with the Exhibition and we are so happy Katrina is carrying on family traditions! Congratulations Katrina!
