We know that this year has been a challenging one but we appreciate all of the sacrifices that our members have made to get to this point. CDMHA Home & Away Games (Updated - November 28, 2020) Due to further COVID diagnosis in our zone, it has been determined that, beginning Sunday, November 29 and... until further notice, CDMHA teams will not play in communities in which there has been a COVID diagnosis. Therefore, the game/safety bubble for CDMHA teams includes but is restricted to rinks from Kingston/Berwick (down and around Yarmouth) up to Liverpool. This game/safety bubble could change depending on how the COVID situation unfolds over the next few weeks, and CDMHA will continue to share updates with their teams. This decision is based solely on assuring the safety of our teams and our communities, and is not designed to create any negative opinions or ideas towards communities outside of this bubble. We understand that this is a serious health issue, and, we wish all our fellow hockey associations all the best in dealing with this challenge moving forward. Take care. Stay safe and be healthy. Over the years Valley Wild has been able to offer many important programs for the girls in our region. Jamboree's / Intro to Female Hockey Sessions / Learn to... Play and others. This next one, arguably could be the most important program we have offered. Valley Wild will strive to be a more diverse, inclusive and safe place more representative of all the cultures and communities in the Annapolis Valley. To do that we have some work to do, but we would like to get started We are extremely excited to finally get our next program ready for the community in the new year. We want to kick off 2021 the right way.....we want to expose our great game and all the important aspects of team sport to more girls in our region, especially those who might not otherwise play the game. We know the sport has barriers. Most of them we can't do a lot about, but there are some things we can work on to make our game more equitable and inclusive to all, which we hope to start working on in 2021. We know for a fact many girls of different cultures do not see our game as a game they identify with. We also know there are financial barriers keeping families away from our game in all communities. These are things that Valley Wild wants to work on and offer more support. We are excited to offer: FEMALE DROP IN NIGHT's starting January 5th. These nights are FREE for any person who identifies as female, between the ages 12-17 / we will try and support the girls with gear / there is no instruction just getting girls on the ice with Valley Wild players, coaches and parents to expose the game and have some fun. New to skating? That does not matter, we want you to come out anyway! Don't have any gear? It does not matter!! Have a friend or two? Bring them along, have some fun with us! Tuesday Nights 8:40 -9:40pm starting Jan 5. Spread the word and connect with us if you are interested. Stay tuned for more details, together we want to spread the joy of this game to more people. We can all work to support our game to being more inclusive. We hope this is a catalyst to something bigger.

ATTENTION!! SPECTATOR LIMIT UPDATE Effective November 26th, 2020 the Clare-Digby Minor Hockey Association is implementing a limit of 2 spectators per player for... both the Digby and Clare Arenas. CDMHA will allow children under 2 years old to be exempt from the 2 spectator limit rule. However, they MUST be accompanied by their parent. These spectators MUST also be the part of the player’s family members. To further clarify family members While those within the player’s bubble would be ideal, CDMHA realizes that a lot of players rely on other family members to get them to practice and games. So, instead of opting for immediate family only as other arenas have, we will allow family members including parents, siblings and grandparents (could be extended to aunt or uncle if that is who is responsible for getting the player to the arena). If this leads to too many issues, CDMHA will revert to the immediate family only option for spectators. Joline CDMHA Risk Management

MEMBERSHIP MESSAGE, NOVEMBER 27, 2020 We hope everyone is geared up for a fun weekend of hockey! In light of the recent confirmed positive case at one of our s...chools, we have taken some steps in the past three days to go above and beyond what is required of us to protect our players, families and communities. We will continue to keep safety our main priority when making these decisions during these unprecedented times. If someone in your household has been identified by public health as a close contact of a confirmed positive case, he/she should not attend any AMHA hockey activity until public health has cleared him/her to do so. As always, you may choose to keep your player at home at any time you feel personal safety is an issue. We have a safety reminder for our parents today. Please don’t stand in large groups outside our facility doors. Respect physical distancing and masking guidelines when chatting with other hockey families. We are all in this together. Be sure to bring your kindness to the rink!

MEMBERSHIP MESSAGE, NOVEMBER 26, 2020 We are welcoming our NKEC players back to AMHA hockey activities today. Thank you for helping us go above and beyond the s...afety expectations laid out by public health. We will continue to make decisions in the best interests of our players, hockey families and community. If your player or any household member has been notified by public health as a close contact of a confirmed positive case, no member of your household should attend any AMHA hockey activity until further notice. As always, you may choose to keep your player at home at any time you feel personal safety is an issue. The new safety measures we have put in place this year are excellent, but they do require every one of us to stay vigilant. This is a reminder to continue to follow all safety protocols we have worked hard to implement make sure your players know to wear their masks in the dressing rooms, keep physical distancing and abiding by the spectator limits when visiting our hockey facilities and above all, please stay home if you are feeling unwell. If you get a chance, say thank-you to all those volunteers who stepped up to take on the Team Safety Rep roles. We wouldn’t have minor hockey right now without their dedication and volunteer hours. We’d like to thank Jeff Smith, our AMHA League Safety Rep, for his work in leading our pandemic safety measures this year.

Good day hockey family A brief update on the status of our various leagues and season. All of our divisions and teams are still able to play and practice un...der the guidelines established by public health and Hockey Nova Scotia. We are very fortunate to still have the opportunity to play and hopefully that privilege continues. We will update you to any changes as we get them but as we continue please remember to follow all the protocols from our return to play plan, it’s been very effective so far. Our season has been a big success thanks to you! Our kids wouldn’t be on the ice without your amazing support. All of our RECREATION division teams play in the Annapolis Valley Minor Hockey League. The AVMHL has suspended all league games until January 9th. All of our recreation teams are still able to practice and play exhibition games. Only league games have been put on hold. All of our B, A and AA teams play in the Scotia Minor Hockey league or Central Minor Hockey League. These teams are still able to play exhibition games and practice but all league games are suspended until January 2nd. All games must be within our health zone Our AAA team plays in the U13AAA league and that league is currently suspending games until December 16th with a further update expected this week. That team may practice and play exhibition games as directed by Hockey Nova Scotia. Our U9 and U7 (IP and Quickstart) levels are continuing as normal other than U9 teams following the HNS and public health guidelines of games within our health zone plus West Hants. Any team that schedules an exhibition game must get an approved exhibition game permit before playing. If you have any questions please contact us and we will be happy to provide assistance. If your team needs help coming up with ideas to keep the season fun and positive in these difficult times, please reach out to our Recreation or Competitive chairs and they will be happy to help. We're here to help you any way we can. Recreation teams: Tanya Walsh [email protected] Competitive teams: Billy Rhynard [email protected] Thank you and best wishes to all our hockey families. Stay safe

All Hockey Nova Scotia-sanctioned events have been cancelled until further notice. This include ALL Hockey Nova Scotia events (like minor hockey games and practices), ALL provincial tournaments (like the NSMBHL provincials), and all minor hockey and female hockey tournaments (like the Joe Lamontagne) that are already underway. This is a decision that Hockey Nova Scotia fully supports. The safety of our membership is our top priority. READ https://bit.ly/39OgMLb
