The Holidays are often described as a festive time full of cheer and happiness...but this isn’t always the case for everyone. A list of chores and errands, financial burden, loneliness, grief/loss, seeing family may bring up old wounds, and of course added stress of COVID and changing plans. Here are some helpful tips to take care of yourself. 1. Acknowledge your feelings ... 2. Be realistic/Say no to some plans 3. Stick to a budget 4. Don’t negate your healthy habits ie. exercise, sleep habits 5. Take a break/Use relaxation techniques ie. meditation 6. Create new traditions and keep meaningful ones 7. Practice gratitude and acceptance 8. Reach out and connect with others you trust 9. Plan for triggers/Practice answers to triggering questions 10. Seek professional help if needed There’s always time to take care of you. #holiday #holidays #holidayseason #holidayplans #holidays2020 #holidaywellness #wellnessplan #selfcare #holidaytips #mentalwellness

Things can become too much or overwhelming sometimes. Life throws us many curveballs. It can become hard to make sense of it all or you don’t feel like yourself anymore. You feel exhausted and it’s hard to think. Our thoughts can sometimes feel like this tangled ball of yarn. If you can relate, counselling or psychotherapy can be helpful for you. The act of psychotherapy can help you make sense of your world, collect your thoughts and get back to being YOU! #psychotherapy #counselling #jumbledthoughts #overwhelmed #lifelessons #lifeisgood #curveball

Which colour do you identify with? Sometimes we go on auto pilot and end up in orange or red before we know it. Doing daily check ins with yourself can be helpful to prevent burnout or an emotional crisis. Counselling can also be helpful in all colours. You don’t need to be in a crisis to seek counselling. Counselling can help you build coping skills, gain new perspectives, increase insight and your resilience. #counselling #thriving #surviving #struggling #crisis

I now offer EMDR therapy! Swipe to learn more about it. Often times, memories/experiences can live in our emotions and bodies and we sometimes tie negative thoughts about ourselves to these memories. EMDR is a somatic therapy, rather than traditional talk therapy, that helps target healing in our memories, emotions, thoughts and bodies. If you have further questions or wonder if this might be helpful for you, please book a FREE 15min consultation. ... #emdr #emdrtherapy #emdrtherapist #trauma #traumarecovery #heal #healing #naturalhealing #naturalhealth #holistic #holistichealth
