The Lil'tem Mountain Hotel project achieved their completion milestone on March 1, 2016. SLRD was on site and confirmed that all requirements have been met for occupancy. Well done to the Antares and TDC teams on creating such a quality structure! With the creation of the Hotel and the RV Park, Seton Portage has been transformed and these accommodations will play an incredibly important role in the future of the area.

CONGRATULATIONS CCDC!!! Cayoose Creek Development Corp. Announces Acquisition of Walden North Hydroelectric Project LILLOOET, B.C. February 25, 2016 - Cayoose Creek Development Corp. (CCDC), the economic arm of Sekw'el'was Cayoose Creek Indian Band, is pleased to announce the completion of the Walden North Hydroelectric project acquisition in partnership with Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. (Innergex). The newly formed partnership Cayoose Creek Power LP, acquired the 16MW r...un-of-river facility from FortisBC for a final total purchase price of $9.2 million. The Walden North project is located on Cayoosh Creek in Sekw’el’was traditional territory just south of Lillooet, BC. This is only the beginning of our ascent towards re-establishing a thriving local economy like the rich history our ancestors had, stated Sekw'el'was Chief Michelle Edwards, There are many long-term benefits for Cayoose and other St’at’imc communities, as well as the local Lillooet community. We feel there is a lot of focus on larger developments throughout the province, with small communities like Lillooet being forgotten or overlooked. The Walden North facility and surrounding estate is the forefront of further opportunities for Sekw'el'was Cayoose Creek Band. The estate itself is a multi-use property and with both archaeological and commercial value and fits into the community’s greater economic vision. This effort was indeed all hands on deck noted Akemi Siu, Chief Executive Officer for CCDC, Cayoose leadership was consistently strong and disciplined while working towards agreements with significant players in the BC energy sector.
