Learn To Play Update AMHA regrets to announce that due to COVID restrictions, we will be unable to offer our very popular Learn To Play program this year. This program will return next season as long as there are no longer any COVID restrictions in place.

AMHA Lottery Update Lottery ticket purchasers, The original plan for the season was to have 25 draws, however when we worked it out, the final draw would have been on Easter weekend. We decided that we did not want to have a draw that weekend, and we don't want to have a gap week at the end of the season so the decision was made to go with 24 draws this year. That said, we know many of you have pre-paid for tickets for 25 weeks. What we have suggested to our sellers is that... the extra ticket be used for the last draw of the season, as that draw will include 5 extra prizes of $1000. If you want to do something different with the extra ticket you have paid for, please contact your seller to make arrangements. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. AMHA

We will see everyone at the Arena Sunday starting at 10 am. Sales will be brisk so you will want to stock up on tickets.

Hi Everyone, The Female Central Registry is now open. If your daughter will be playing Female Hockey in the Quad County Zone she must be registered. The earlier we know how many players at each level the sooner we can determine what teams can be offered in our zone. Therefore it is important to register as soon as possible. It is difficult to add teams if there are late registrations in one group.

Parents and Guardians, Registration for AMHA is now open. Our web site has been updated in an effort to make registration easier for both parents and AMHA board members. Some changes have happened with the Family Profile, most notably you will see that Parents/Guardians are now listed as Members. I did what I could to make this process as easy as possible, however some of you will need to update your Birth Dates in order to be able to register your children. AMHA needs va...lid Birthdates for parents as a minimum of one parent must be entered in the Hockey Canada Registry with a Parent Respect In Sport certificate. Also one other "Gotcha" is that their can only be one parent/guardian listed as the "Adult(Primary)". This person will be considered the primary contact for any children in the family. All other adults must be set to "Adult(Other)". Any Adults with the "Receive Email" option enabled will be added to email lists associated to children in the family. Please check out our "Information" section as lots of questions can be answered their by viewing the FAQs etc. If you have any suggestions on improvements or read something that isn't clear, send me an email and I will do my best to clean things up. Hockey Nova Scotia has announced their plan for the upcoming season.

For todays ticket drop off please let the person at the door know why you are there (to drop off tickets). If anyone is coming to the Arena to watch hockey, the will have to sign in with the Safety Rep for that team. If there is no Safety rep there, you will have to wait for them to arrive. These are rules that fall under our rental agreement with the Arena. We are required to ensure all contact tracing is done as well as Arena rules for timing of entry for teams using the ice. Dear Scotia Minor Hockey League Members, Following the directives of HNS and to ensure all teams remain in their respective health zones, effective immediately ...all Scotia Minor regular-season league play will be suspended until Dec 9th. We will re-evaluate with guidance from HNSMC closer to the 9th. Please note exhibition games may be organized by each team independently so long as they are in their own HEALTH zone but will not be sanctioned as league games and must have their own travel/exhibition permit numbers as Scotia Minor's league permit will be suspended. We are aware of these concerns and they are being reviewed by our Rebound Plan steering committee. In the meantime, we will continue to work with our partners from Public Health and the province to ensure that all of their recommended guidelines and safety measures are followed. We will also be consulting immediately with our associations, leagues, and scheduling bodies across Nova Scotia to ensure that we are prepared and ready to act quickly. For now, please continue to follow the Rebound Plan and the Public Health guidelines. Remember to practice proper hygiene and physical distancing. Most importantly, please stay home if you are unwell. We will send another communication following this afternoon’s update from the provincial government.

UPDATE ON TODAY'S GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT (Friday, Nov. 20): After a thorough consultation with the province and Public Health, we want to pass along some information that will help clarify what today’s government announcement meant for our hockey community. Please be advised there are no changes to hockey activities at this time. While the province did announce some changes impacting gathering limits in the Halifax Regional Municipality, there are no travel restrictions affecting travel into or out of Halifax. There is no reason for teams to avoid travel to the Halifax Regional Municipality or to refuse to host teams from the area. At this time, there are no concerns with COVID-19 spread in the hockey community. As well, there are no changes to the rule of 50 on the field of play. Groups of 50 can continue to be on the field of play without physical distancing. This includes players, officials, coaches, instructors, and anyone else who is required to be on or near the ice surface, team benches, penalty box, timekeeper box, and dressing rooms. Any changes to the rules for hockey and other sports will be communicated by public health. While hockey is safe, we need to remain vigilant. We need to continue to follow the public health guidelines, as well as the Rebound Plan. Thank you for your continued cooperation and everything you are doing to help keep our hockey community (and our province) safe.

Good Morning Association President’s & Representative’s: The website is officially updated with all the schedules for this weekend. You may see a few games as T...BA for the time, that is because we are waiting on time confirmation for those games from the respective association. You will also notice the U-11AA is broken down into two conferences (South and North) they are as follows: South: -West Hants -Acadia -Truro -Cumberland North: -Pictou Red -Pictou White -Antigonish -Cape Breton West -Cape Breton County -Glacé Bay For all divisions besides U-13AA and U-15AA will be playing their regular season in their set divisions. (What they do in exhibition games is their choice through approval of HNSMC.) On January 1st HNSMC will re-evaluate the COVID-19 situation and decide how we will go forward. AMHA would like to thank the Arena commission for the meeting held last week to address issues with the return of spectators to the Arena. It was a very positive meeting and all of our concerns, only one of which was the Contact Tracing, with the updated rental agreement were addressed. The Municipality originally planned a re-open the first week of April, however today they announced they will be closed until further notice. What does that mean for AMHA Lottery;... - we will postpone the lottery until the Provincial Heath Officials advise it’s safe to hold the final draw - our Lottery Licence has been extended by the Government to accommodate getting the final draw done - AMHA will update everyone with advance notice of the draw date once known, so everyone can do their final ticket sales - tickets are still available for sale/purchase. - rest assured as soon as the pandemic passes we will hold the draw. - AMHA will do our best to keep everyone updated as information comes available. The AMHA Checking clinic will take place this Wednesday Oct 7th at the Keating Centre. There is a classroom session from 5:30 to 7:00 at the Keating Centre Conference Room C, followed by an on ice session from 7:00 to 8:00. Any child wishing to play contact hockey must go through this training session a least once. If you have gone through this training last year, or with the Novas this year, you do not have to take this course again. There is no fee for this training.
