The annual Art After Dark festival is happening this month in Antigonish and has loads of wonderful events to check out. There do happen to be a few events taking place tomorrow at Chisholm Park throughout the day, and so the parking behind our building at 325 Main will not be accessible (not our week for parking hey!) It's a very worthy cause, with loads of hard work invested by artists and community members and I suggest checking it out. Also suggest giving yourself a few extra minutes to find parking tomorrow before your appointment :) As earlier in the week, I will do everything I can to accommodate everyone who might be running a bit late, and I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

The parking lot is still accessible from Saint Ninnian St and Hawthorne St but parking is limited today so plan ahead if you can, and I will do my best to accommodate anyone who is late for their appointment. Online booking now open!! I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as I try to navigate our new world working conditions. I really do have the kindest and most wonderful clients and I am blessed to be a part of your healing and functioning in your life! A few things have changed with online booking- they are temporary as we see how the next few months go! ... I am still offering 60 minute appointments only. This helps me fit in more people, and keep added COVID expenses covered without having to raise prices. My scheduled work days are also a bit different. Like many working parents I am adapting to the changing needs of my children. It’s hard to predict how things will look in September and what those needs will be. I have opened up time slots during the school day and for now, am not offering evening appointments. This can change as we settle into the school year and see how things with the virus evolve in our region. As a result of the fluid nature of the next few months, I am capping online booking to two months out for now and will continue to evaluate and make changes to availability as neccesary. When booking online, your confirmation and reminder emails will contain COVID-19 screening questions. I ask that you take a moment to review the questions to self screen prior to your appointment. Wondering if you have to wear a mask for your appointment? The answer is yes :) It's true they can be a little hot, a little uncomfortable, but they sure are effective. Particularly considering the close proximity required for providing massage therapy. If you do not have one to bring for your appointment, I have some for purchase. $2 for disposable masks, and $6.50 for CACL re-usable masks. I'll wear one for you, and you wear one for me.

Great news- I have re-opened!! Information regarding re-opening was emailed out to my client list last week. If you did not receive that communication, would like your name and address added or removed from that list, please let me know! I have been making lots of phone calls this week and am making my way through the list of everyone who was required to cancel due to the emergency health orders. It has been so wonderful to reconnect with everyone I have been able to so fa...r and am looking forward to catching up with everyone as I continue to work on that list! It has been a strange few months, and I am so proud of my community and my province for the sacrifices everyone made to help flatten our curve, and prevent the spread of this virus, protecting the most vulnerable among us. We can re-open our community now, carrying that sense of pride and with us and also the knowledge of what we can continue to do to support the health of ourselves, and our community. Great news! The Nova Scotia Department of Health has approved the Massage Therapists of Nova Scotia (MTANS) back to work proposal!! That means that massage therapists in Nova Scotia that belong to this association are allowed to re-open as early as June 5 if we are able to meet all of the requirements of this plan. I have also developed a plan specific to my practice, as required by the Province of Nova Scotia and MTANS. I want to thank you for your patience as I move forw...ard carefully to ensure that I am in compliance with or exceed every element of this plan. My goal remains to be supporting the best possible health for every person that walks through my door, and I will continue to work diligently on behalf of your health and safety. I still have some items on order that affect my ability to reopen. It is my goal to open as soon as possible, but at this moment I do not have an exact date available yet. Thank you for your continued patience and I will be in touch very soon to start scheduling appointments!

Premier Stephen MacNeil just announced that massage therapy can re-open June 5, pending approval of our associations re-opening plan. Guess what?! We found out when you did- in the news!! While I have been working away for weeks in preparation, things might not be quite ready to take appointments beginning June 5. I am so excited to get back to work and to see all of you, but I might need patience for just a little longer- there is some essential equipment on order that has not yet arrived. I will be following up with more information very soon- but for now please know that I have kept a list of appointments in order that they were cancelled, and will be reaching out to everyone to rebook in that order. Please check back here for updates and I promise I will be getting in contact with you really soon!!!
