Psychologists have a concept they refer to as goal competition one of the greatest barriers to achieving your goals is the other goals you have; your goals are competin...g against each other for your time and attention. One of the best ways to make progress on a goal is to press pause on other less important priorities or goals. Tip # 2 Habit Stacking. Simply take a habit from your current routine and start your new habit either immediately before or immediately after the current habit. Make sure you write down that intention. Here is what it looks like: After/Before [CURRENT HABIT], I will [NEW HABIT]. Examples: (a) Push ups - Before my shower I will do 10 push ups. (b) Gratitude Before eating my dinner, I will say one thing I am thankful for. (c) Networking After returning from my lunch break, I will email one person that I want to meet.
