It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell to our amazing manager, Carolyn Berry. For over six years, Carolyn has been an integral part of the success at Anytime Fitness Silverado and has truly been the face of our gym. She has warmly greeted and connected with so many of our members. During her time with us, she has also been in school full time and will be graduating soon. As she embraces this new chapter in her life, we want to wish her nothing but total happiness and continued success! Carolyn’s last day with us will be Friday, October 15th. We encourage you all to stop by the club to wish her well and would also like to invite you to raise a glass with us on the evening of October 15th at Kildares Pub. We have reserved an area from 6-10pm and would be delighted to share this special night with our members and friends.

We continue to hear the outcry from the public as we are encroaching on the 7-week mark that our fitness facilities have been closed. We were trusting that the Alberta Government and the Alberta Health Services would take the concerns of the health and well-being; physical, mental, and emotional, of the public more seriously and make an announcement this week that would allow fitness facilities to begin preparing to open again and service the public. While a plan was announ...ced, we feel it does not facilitate near enough of the community. We want you to know that we hear you. We understand that you NEED us to open our doors. Fitness facilities are a place where individuals can work on health issues such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, and obesity. We are also a place where our people fight the battle against depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, and many other mental health diagnoses. It also helps to mitigate stress on the mind and body and assists in recovery from stressful times which is where many people find themselves attempting to navigate through these challenging times. The nearest, best case scenario for opening will have many fitness industry spaces closing before that date is ever reached. Statistics on COVID-19 outbreak in Fitness in each sector across Alberta from June to December. - 1 outbreak from dance - 1 outbreak from martial arts - 1 outbreak from cycling - 1 outbreak from boxing - 2 outbreaks from fitness studios and gyms We hear you and we hear your concerns, even if you feel like you are being ignored by Alberta Health Services and the government. We need CHANGE, and we need our members to know that we are going to continue to work within previously accepted guidelines from the government and AHS to create a plan to open all fitness facility types. We are working, collectively as an industry, to formulate a plan that will allow us to open and continue providing a safe, respectful environment. We are ready to open all of our club types safely and respectfully!!
