We are thrilled to announce that the Strategic Prairie Region Alliance (SPRA) has been chosen as the design team for the Saskatoon Remand Centre expansion project. SPRA's team includes aodbt architecture + interior design, P3Architecture Partnership, and START Architecture. SPRA looks forward to helping government design a remand facility that will provide a respectful environment, promote wellness and ensure the safety of inmates, staff and the public, SPRA Project Direct...or Pat Kelly said. SPRA is a 20-year joint venture of aodbt Architecture, P3Architecture and START Architecture. When complete, the new remand centre will add space for approximately 400 remand inmates to the Saskatoon Correctional Centre. We were so thrilled a couple years ago to design The Barn at Wind's Edge just outside Saskatoon. Check out what one of their talented owners and her daughter produced A full gingerbread barn replica! Maybe they want a job producing sweet architectural models in the new year Sending positive thoughts and well wishes to all those local businesses out there this year that have been impacted pandemic in a big way. We can’t wait to celebrate with you guys at The Barn again!

Exciting to see the Eagle Creek Veterinary Services new clinic taking shape in Rosetown, Saskatchewan What a great project to be part of for our team together with Strata!!!

Currently under construction, the Neonatal Special Care Unit at the Victoria Hospital will provide expanded state-of-the-art amenities for newborns and families from Prince Albert and northcentral Saskatchewan. Our team worked closely with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Victoria Hospital care team and stakeholders on the design of this much-needed facility. The new space was supported by the Victoria Hospital Foundation and funded by the generosity of community donors. As a design firm with deep roots in Saskatchewan, it's our privilege to create spaces for even the tiniest members of the communities we live and work in!

We are always proud to work on projects that enhance community & bring new life to older historic buildings. The Congregation Agudas Israel Jewish Community Centre opened the doors to it's current building in 1958 after many years in their original building on the west side of the Saskatoon. In 2015, aodbt was engaged to re-design their building and provide space for the 21st century. We kept many of the original architectural details but upgraded many spaces throughout - inc...luding new Hebrew school classrooms, library space, kitchen and security and accessibility upgrades throughout. One interesting detail was the large west window in the hall/sanctuary space. This detail was in the original plans but had been framed in and filled with solid panels during construction in the 1950's. How great it is to see the light fill this space and to capture some of the original design vision of the Synagogue! Our team, in partnership with BR2 Architecture is excited to share a construction update from Dr. Anne Anderson Highschool in Edmonton. Clarke Builders continues to forge ahead with construction, even in these trying times. The construction of the school is well ahead of schedule and should be complete in early 2021. The majority of the exterior cladding is complete, including the large solar array on both the roof as well as the walls. The interior is moving quickly as well, with the agora columns taking shape and the feature stairs, fireplace, and living green wall coming to life. Dr. Anne Anderson Highschool will be a keystone piece in Edmonton Public Schools portfolio and will provide a modern 21st century learning environment in southern Edmonton for years to come. Students will begin attending in September 2021.

Since 2003, aodbt has been working with the University of Saskatchewan's Western College of Veterinary Medicine. We have done many phases of renovation upgrades and additions in almost 20 years. We are extremely proud of the work we have done at this education institution that is known as a leader in their field. Today's throwback photo shows the first steel rising at the College in the 1960's and a few photos of the work we have done there with various phases in the years that followed.

Our team was thrilled to be at the opening for the Dakota Dunes Resort Hotel at Whitecap Dakota First Nation last week. This project has been a 3 year collabora...tion with our firm, LEMAYMICHAUD, Ledcor, our engineering team - JC Kenyon, PWA & MacPherson and landscape designers Urban Systems. We worked in partnership with Chief Bear, Council and the Development Team at WDFN and Atlific Hotels to create a beautiful modern hotel that weaves in the story of Indigenous culture and the local history of Whitecap Dakota First Nation through design + architecture.
